Backstory: The entire Sabres roster is in Europe and their preseason team in NA is essentially Rochester in Sabres jerseys. Sabretooth is also overseas, so they called up Moose!

Mick E. Moose got the call he had long waited for on October 7, 2011 when he was called up to the NHL to represent the newly moved Winnipeg Jets as the official team mascot.

why is there a schedule game in Buffalo for the sabres if the team is in Europe

They played three games in the US after the top 27 players were in Europe. What’s funny is that they managed to win 2 out of the 3 despite having an exemption on starting a minimum number of veteran players. It was prospects and Amerks and that’s what they had. They were even leading in the game they lost until Sandstrom came in and did what Sandstrom does and got lit up in the third period. It was a gutty preseason effort for a lineup with a combined…like…88 NHL games played or something. Was a weird preseason though. Still..I wouldn’t want to be a team that lost to what amounted to an AHL team without their best goal scorer, top two or three verts and goalie (all are in Europe). Made the games funny at least
