It's baffling that a large goalie like UPL can so often make himself look small.

It's baffling that a large goalie like UPL can so often make himself look small.

Two things. First, it has been a feature of every goaltender under this particular goalie coach and he is year seven? Eight? Second, when they had reduced their number of odd man rushes against and the number of cross-seam passes they were giving up, all of a sudden they were on the positive side of the expected goals against ledger. Almost as if being a completely shitty team, defensively makes it awfully hard for a goaltender to do anything effectively. Now they’re back to the same rampant stupidity, and almost every goalie behind them has looked like a turd.

I see UPL getting low to see through traffic. It will always make him seem smaller. Maybe if they cleared the shooting lanes more effectively he can be taller and play further out in the crease. The D tends to shadow players in the lanes instead of physically moving them out of the way

The rule should be: it's only offside if the ref decides it's offside during the play. No reviews.

Kinda like the old rule then. Except the linesman made the call.

sabre Mike suggests above that Leone is an actual example of a real coach already inside the organisation.. Is this true as nobody outside is coming to help this team.

I love Lindy but he may not be well enough to put this Shite show on his back despite knowing what it meant to be a sabre.and a winning culture.

( I believe we are good enough if we had two tough vet forwards like Zucker and Vet D all who covered all the children's aszes and yelled at them to listen to proper coaching and still play fast but in between the dots we wouldn't have to nuke this team)?

does anyone know why Ruff didn't pick his own assistants , is his control limited by Terry Pegula?

how physical is Novikov could he take samuelson role?

I know nothing.

Neither does the coaching staff or management.

I don't know Appert off the ice. I do know that in his short time in Rochester, Leone is doing a lot right that it took years for Appert to be close to. They are so much better in terms of how they defend, their positioning, their details, their energy... I think Appert's a nice guy and he's had some success trying to develop some players but I think in the end, Leone's going to be the better NHL coach down the line.

Metsa doesn't have an NHL contract and his AHL deal is up this summer. He's 195 but only 5'9" so that's a rare height for defensemen to be successful in the NHL. However, he's got almost 20 lbs on Bryson who is listed at the same height.

I've never heard bad things about Cozens or Thompson off the ice.

Novikov is physical and I think will take a role on the team toward the end of next year unless he has a great AHL playoff.

you are awesome as usual that's how appert appears we need conviction so sounds like you and sabre Mike believe Leone may be the next Babich type hire w physical defensive details

is it possible they liked Leone and cleared path more say peca or of insider sabres
