The team should not expect a superb performance in net. In years past they could’ve rallied and scored 5-7 for the tendy but this year more than ever it seems we lose games with our goalie playing good. We’ve only really had 2 bad goaltending performances from memory.

Hopefully matthews and nylander can start going, 30 games in and combined under ppg for 25 million is incredible….

Bottom six can keep existing I guess.

Your last point is why I think games like this are mostly irrelevant. The Leafs should get the two points, even if they look ugly doing so, but it may not even matter this year because I think the division lead will practically be handed to them on a silver platter. Florida is playing like they want the regular season to end now. Tampa and Boston are great at beating up on bad teams and then promptly getting beaten up by good teams, and the rest of the division is its usual wasteland (although Ottawa is finally starting to show some life).

The Leafs schedule starts to turn a bit more challenging around January 9. Until then, they should be able to rack up a lot of points.

Florida is right there with us in the standings and Tampa Bay is an interesting case, their goal differential is +30 while ours is +9 so I wouldn't take finishing ahead of them for granted either.

It's exactly what we have seen for the past seven playoffs. I guess the hope was that the skaters would grow into it throughout the season, and by playoff time would have it figured out. Jury is out on that so far.

They continue to be a perimeter team. Which makes them a soft team imo. Get to the dirty areas, good things will happen with all the skill we have.

I think the great D is the good housekeeping that will be the foundation on which you build the offense up again. We lost Tyler f’ing Bertuzzi in the summer so it’s up to the star core to figure it out.

Lions have become my adopted team for work, which much of my team being in Windsor and rabid Lions fans.

They are fun to watch, especially after watching the Tomlin led Steelers, who always want to win 6-3….

If the schedule makers were kinder, I would be actively watching and pulling for the Lions to beat the Bills.

Scheduling jerks messed it all up.

As it stands will watch the Steelers live, PVR the Leafs game so I can fast forward if it’s a stinker, and probably will not get to watch the Lions game.

Like @ACC1224 daid, it would have helped if the Lions played 1:00, the Steelers at 4:00, and Leafs at 7:00.
