GDT: Sabres at Jets, 3:00 p.m. EDT; March 23, 2025

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
  • Live threads are back for GDTs, if your thread isn't live report it and a mod will turn it up.
Reiner won that game
1st period was not good team play
Reiner is such a meathead though (All In The Family reference for the geezers here)

Maybe McLeod and Norris are our 1C and 2C next year.
please, please do not force a player good where he's at into something he is not. Lets be careful with that.

We keep being fed a line of crap on Norris, lets see when he plays again

Just got finished watching the game.

We should have gotten run out of that building today. Reimer saved 3-4 shots that really should have gone in, plus the Jets hit a post or two.

We cashed our opportunities though, so full credit there.

But wow....sooooo many primo chances against today.

Watched on DVR.
After yesterday, I see only 2 outcomes for this game:

1.) Winnipeg absolutely blows our doors off and runs us out of the rink
2.) A convincing Sabres win that leaves us thinking "Why can't they do this every game???"
Comrie giving up 2 on 7 shots is a very Buffalo-involved stat.
(and)
If it makes you feel better, the Jets doubled us up on shots and it was really just Comrie blowing it (looked familiar).
Wasn't the narrative when he was with BUF that he was either (A) playing well but getting no goal support, (B) letting in too many, (C) both A and B ?

I swear he's just laughing at that point in the game.

surprised to see Kojak on the PP
It was the extreme end of the PP. Sabres had just had their first PP SOG by Benson after nearly 6 min of PP time in the game (unless a couple of the point shots in their 3rd PP were stopped by Comrie - I think the 2nd point shot just prior to Benson's shot wasn't wide and was indeed on goal.

Nearly 3 full power plays before a SOG-for was registered...

Kozak with a powerplay goal?
I think scored 1 second before or after the penalty expired.
I’ve actually really liked Clifton as a bottom pairing D. He can stay.
I've felt that way all year. He's not the problem, and for his role is just fine.

Dahlin, Byram, Clifton for next year. Upgrade the rest. Bryson as the 7th (or more preferably) 8th.

Whats extremely frustrating about this team is they could win 5 in a row or lose 5 in a row at anytime to any teams.

They beat Vegas and Winnipeg but will lose to teams like Anaheim.

Thats why I am a firm believer in fixing the defense first and play better defensive hockey. I think the forwards although not great are good enough to win games 3-2 or 4-2 if the defensemen are competent. I also don't think playing better defensively means sacrificing offense. They need to play better as a unit.

The whole team is ill-built for puck possession. far too frequently they don't play as a unit. It's exposed dramatically when they are on the power-play. I've never seen 4 opponents so easily and consistently neutralize a Sabres PP.

They beat Vegas because a guy pulled a Leon Lett move and beat Winnipeg that was the most absurd example of dumb luck you will ever see.
