I think we really need to hope Ostlund develops well. I think he's got exactly the type of skill set we need, the question is whether he can reach the ceiling we need.
He needs spinach

Is it a top 3 embarassing moment this year for the Sabres? Top 5?Just saw the own goal. I was initially shocked there isn't a main boards thread about it. Then I thought, maybe nobody is surprised at shit like this anymore from the Sabres?
I agree. Just my initial reaction was "that's so bad it will be all over the main boards!"Is it a top 3 embarassing moment this year for the Sabres? Top 5?
I'm not 100% sure it cracks the top 5.
I agree. Just my initial reaction was "that's so bad it will be all over the main boards!"
Then I stopped to think about it when it wasn't. The Sabres are so irrelevant that the main boards are even tired of making fun of the Sabres.
Dahlin not making the clear on the winning goal. McLeod not making the easy soft rim pass to an uncovered Power on the first goal. Not just Tage Thompson faltering at key moment, but him scoring into his own net rather than just putting a softie on net to get the stoppage. Dahlin blowing the zone so early he's the first man up the ice on the first Utah goal.
I don't understand this team.
Tage said he didn't know there was a penalty for whatever that's worth. When Rob Ray has more hockey sense than your best offensive forward….

Tell me you have zero awareness of what is happening on the ice without telling me you have zero awareness.Tage said he didn't know there was a penalty for whatever that's worth.
Also immaturity. But yeah, they don’t prioritize IQ or toughness.Said it a while back, it's hockey IQ, or lack of.
They weren’t communicating with each other, and weren’t aware of what was going on. Different day, same issues.Tage said he didn't know there was a penalty for whatever that's worth.
I go back to what the Bruins scout told me: hockey IQ, character, and work ethic are three non-negotiables for the scouts in that organization. Even in their down years, they don't play like this. And they often have less raw talent than the Sabres. Also immaturity. But yeah, they don’t prioritize IQ or toughness.
While I agree with the sentiment, the Mitchell Miller situation is proof the organization doesn't exactly run that way.I go back to what the Bruins scout told me: hockey IQ, character, and work ethic are three non-negotiables for the scouts in that organization. I do not. It wasn't any worse than any other time this has happened, but generally an own goal on a delayed penalty is threadworthy. Just not when it is the Sabres anymore. Not sure if I am happy there is no mocking or upset. That bad huh? .. I didn't watch the game.
Who has vid?
But he surely knew the Sabres net was empty. It was a stupid pass for that reason alone.Tage said he didn't know there was a penalty for whatever that's worth.
