GDT: Sabres at Flyers - Battle of the Basement; 1:00 p.m. EDT, 3/29/2025

Man this defense is so f***ing bad I think maybe the Sabres ought to draft Schaefer if they win the lottery. How could you possibly say they don’t need defense.

An LHD being the top option for #1? It’s right in the Sabres wheelhouse for drafting first overall. It’s one of those undeniable truths of life, along with death and taxes.

so, I'm reading:
no Dahlin? what happened to him?
UPL was shit? So what else is new? (weren't the Sabres leading 3-2 at one point?)

It's getting to the point where I'm not even paying attention to the hockey related threads in the Sabres section. Pegula still owning the team so who gives a shit? Nothing will change til he's gone.
You folks that are still watching...bless your patience.

Their top scoring forward was directly responsible for what, three GA today? They are so far away.
Im still fearful some of these lucky wins are going to convince Adams he just needs an addition in the top-4, and everything will smooth itself out.

Youre right, though. We're so far away, and I don't think we'll be significantly closing the gap anytime soon. I feel for Dahlin. Elite talent who should be playing in big time games. Not sure he has much patience left for this franchise to stop tripping over itself.

Had the suspicion they didn't have the centers a year ago. They have the 3C they've always wanted and seem like they now have 2 4C's between Kozak and Krebs. But the 1C/2C are not getting it done, even if the 1C is now the 1RW.

And their top-6C is injury prone on an 8M dollar cap hit. They need another top-6C, but I concerned Adams will force Kulich into that role. I have zero faith in him.

Man, has their been a worse decade for Sabres fans? In the day and age of a salary cap to even the playing field- they still have the longest actice playoff drought by 5 years! And it doesn't appear we'll be making the jump anytime soon.

I don't think they go anywhere until they have almost everyone willing to play on the right side of the puck among their forwards. And I don't like five of their seven defensemen most nights as well.

I think I heard them say he's ill. There had been something going around the locker room recently - maybe he just got it.

Whether or not the wins convince him or not, that’s as much movement I expect to see from him. He’s going to do the absolute minimum to keep his job. We might see 2-3 more moves than expected, but they will be made because he couldn’t get the players to agree on new contracts.
