It's a rant but the Avs gave the Sabres the game they wanted. Flow, open ice & lanes, they only had to play moderately physical and even after the come back loss in December, they let the Avs play come back hockey retreating into a shell. Get rid of Ruff. He's over the hill.

Sure, the refs had nothing to do with us allowing 2 goals in the final 3 minutes with the goalie pulled, but that tripping call to hand the Avs a 5 on 3 that they scored on was a 10/10 dive. Disgraceful call.

I watched that replay like six times and couldn’t make out how Wedgewood was injured on the play. I don’t blame the ref for demanding to see a corpse before blowing the whistle. I would also point out that Buffalo was kind enough to then show the ref a corpse.

The Makar dive was a make up call by the ref for not blowing the whistle when Woody 1 was obviously hurt. The time to cease play was when the ref was standing on back of the goal cage before Benson scored.

That enraged the entire Avs bench.

Yep. You really see it when contrasting buffalo and Colorado. Both are/ should be speed/skill oriented teams. But look at the differences in the defensive end. When we enter their zone with the puck, one guy aggressively attacks the puck carrier, and everyone else promptly marks up, giving the carrier little to no space to complete a pass. Want to get into a prime scoring area? You better be ready to f***ing fight, because they are going to swarm you.

By contrast, when Colorado enters our zone, at least one guy is out of position, no one is really standing them up at the blue line, and the other guys are wondering what they're supposed to do next. Want to get into a prime scoring area? Well, maybe dahlin or clifton will do something about it. If they aren't on the ice, feel free.

What’s your point? I keep seeing what appears to be the same post over and over again. Benson was knocked down into Wedgewood by the Colorado Defenseman. We had possession of the puck and Benson scored. We lost in overtime.
