Post-Game Talk: Sabres 5 - Jets 3

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

He’s got an .843 save percentage on the Moose :help:

I challenge anyone to stay with a straight face that any of the goals Comrie let in were bad.

He's the backup making a meager salary it's not on that the team absolutely collapses in front of him. Maybe there's a reason why we keep making backups look like Hasek
I don't think the team completely collapsed in front of him (if you're referring to the game as a whole). They weren't as good as they can be, but they weren't dogshit either

As for the goals that got past Comrie... I'd put them in the "could have stopped them" category but definitely not the "should have stopped them" category. The loss isn't on him, that's for sure

Can't win them all, but we should have beat Buffalo! Reimer was awesome in goal and deserved the win! On to the next one. I give this game two "Mr. Dressups" out of five...

The Prediction Contest has been posted for the game against Ovi and the Trumps for your guesses. A big shoutout to @SUX2BU for giving me a break as he will be posting the next GDT. We all look forward to it! See you all on Tuesday! Good night...

Overall, a pedestrian, casual effort by the Jets. Reimer was good, but Comrie let in a deflating goal almost every time the Jets started to get it going. I've been a cheerleader of his this year, but he was a huge factor in us losing.

Some excellent individual efforts from Miller, Tanev, and Ehlers though, so there's that.

The team as a whole need to step it up because this is starting to get into "same old same old" territory. This team should be better than these "try only when we need to", fly-by games against lowly teams. They need to be better than this.

That said, it was just one game.

Next.

It’s at least partially on him.

Three goals should’ve been enough to win when we only gave up 16 shots against.

Four goals against on a 0.5 expected goals/a .750 save percentage on 16 shots is enough in my book to give at least partial blame to your netminder.

the go ahead goal was impossible to stop. the rest were quality shots in high danger areas.

the team has to do better in front of him. its embarrassing the effort they give him in the d zone.

rofl, if this was helle in net you would be screaming from the mountain tops... it's funny this isn't even the first time you have come in a defended comrie after a bad game but you are always the 1st to jump on helle

I feared this would happen. Remember the b2b vs the caps that crushed their spirits a few years back. Don't look now but they got the Caps next.
I do not know if I can take another collapse but the expected collapse percentage is growing.
The b2b against the Southeast division rivals Caps? That "few years back?"

If you can't take another collapse, but you fully expect one, you really shouldn't be following the team. I highly recommend stepping out for a while.

Folks may defend Comrie, but I think even he would tell you thats not his best game.

Is today's effort representative of his game?

Nope.

Will he bounce back and play better?

Almost assuredly.

Somehow he just was not ready to go. Even Helly has games like this... the 82 game schedule is a cast-iron bastard to get through.

'rofl'
as i already wrote, i am grading their efforts on a curve. helley eats up a significant portion of our cap and thus, amazingly, i have higher expecations of him. hilarious i know.

god, some of these comments are so dumb.
