GDT: Sabers

I put some money on a low scoring game. Rod won't like the 10 GA over the weekend. Staal back in the lineup is a big boost. Buffalo has scored 4 goals or more in 6 of 8; the Sabres are due for a correction.

Unfortunately, I had the Canes ML as part of my parlay.

Kochetkov has had a rough month+. I was hoping for a confidence building game. This was not it. Maybe Saturday.

Buffalo has now won 10 of 13 and has beaten teams like Washington, Vegas, Florida, etc on that run. They were a team we shouldn't have taken lightly, and we did.

That's especially true of goalie like Reimer (who has now won 7 in a row), considering he's now at 2 shutouts in his career against us and started this game with a .921 against Carolina (and obviously higher now)

The PP is hot garbage again, which contributes to these last few losses. Not sure why they seem to turn it on and off at will, but it's very odd now. Just in time for the playoffs.

Didn't watch, which was apparently a good thing. I can't remember a season ending with so little at stake over this seven year run. These games are pretty meaningless. But, you also don't want to look like hot garbage going into the playoffs. I don't know.

Just wish we could fast-forward to Game 1.

At least its not just us, every team that has already clinched seems to be in a but if a free fall and their only wins seemingly coming against other teams that have clinched, cause someone's got to win.

The meltdown when Rod sits Nikishin and Morrow while rolling out Burns and Orlov for the playoffs is gonna be epic. No matter how bad they play he just can't help himself. His loyalty to vets seems to be more important than actually winning and it's kinda crazy to watch.
The Maurice effect.

Looking at your post, I thought what you posted made sense until I looked at the Standings.

We have the worst record for SC contenders except for the Cats but they have been missing Barkov, Tkachuk and Ekblad most of the last 10 games. Not a good look for the Canes:

What'd I miss?

Burns had been on the ice for the last 7 goals against (5 against Boston, 2 against Buffalo). Then early in the third, Hall turned it over at our blue line, creating an in-zone 2-on-1 with Ghost as the only guy back. Easy goal for Buffalo, but Burns wasn't on the ice, so his streak (of being on the ice for the last X goals) ended

Well the west is much better however 6 of the 16 teams are at .500 or worse another 4 are 1 game above .500. Thats pretty bad considering we are talking about the top 16 teams in the standings
