Icing the puck when under no pressure is clearly on the players, not the coach.
Agreed, we're losing this series because of goofs like Lehkonen missing wide open nets, Makar playing like Guenin, and Bednar's lines. Each side deserves an equal share of the blame.

I want to see Nelson demoted and Coyle promoted. I think a pair of Landeskog and Nelson could potentially work, as well as a Necas and Coyle pairing. Put Nuke on first line, demote Necas, and get rid of Drouin from the lineup if possible.

Yep, get him out of here. He sucks

I don't understand this idea that the Avs tried to sit back with a 1-0 lead.

After the 1st period:

Shot Attempts 58-33 Avalanche
Shots on Goal 23-14 Avalanche
Scoring Chances 28-18 Avalanche
High Danger Chances 13-7 Avalanche
xGF 2.94 - 2.02 Avalanche

They didn't sit back. They improved as the game went on and this is me acknowledging they didn't play their best.

The Avs had chances. Some of them glorious chances. Oettinger was good, and the Avs didn't battle enough in front. If they can get to the front of the net, they will start scoring goals OR they will get goalie'd by Oettinger and if it's the latter you simply tip your cap.

Two untimely penalties (one awful from MacKinnon) cost the Avs. The Stars had NOTHING going for them before those two PPs.

I - for some reason - still believe they can win this series. But 29 and especially 8 have to play way, way better.
I still believe they are capable of winning, but I'm not sure I believe they can win.

Apparently it's too difficult for our stars to gut out gritty wins. We need to stop being such a perimeter team - our GM literally sold our future so we can get big and physical for these kinds of series but our game plan remains playing from the periphery. What's the point of icing Coyle, Nelson, Landy, even Wood, just to have us float weak wristers from the outside that will either get blocked 60% of the time or miss the net 40% of the time when it doesn't get blocked.

If we were down 1-2 in the series against another team, I wouldn’t worry too much, but Dallas is just a very difficult matchup for us. This series is going the way I was expecting so far if we win game 4. I was expecting a split in Dallas and in Denver, but if we lose game 4, it’s over for sure

I don't think they beat ANYONE the way they played last night. Not Minny, not St. Louis, no one. In fact it might be a lopsided loss because most other teams have their best offensive weapons healthy. Dallas is dealing with offensive issues due to no Robertson/Heiskanen and a Finnish winger who, for now, is ice cold.

Mackinnon played almost 9 more minutes then any other forward for both teams yesterday. Bednar is going back to his old habits again. Except this time we don't have one the best 1st lines in the league. I really dislike when he does this. The third line in particular deserves more ice time.

We don’t give up goals, we just can’t score against Dallas defensive system. Wild and Blues aren’t that good defensively like Stars are

Rudo drives me nuts on the pod, but god damn do I respect him going full "I'm going to kill someone" mode because someone shoved his buddy.

Eric LaCroix meanwhile
Almost looks like AJ knows the guy? The reaction and it looked like he was going to get up to talk to him?

That power play wouldn't score shit against anyone, certainly not when everyone is missing the goddamn net, even at point blank range.
We lost both games in OT. Could have easily been up 3-0 in the series, but their defense and some bad luck, like Lehky missing empty net with less than a minute to go in the 3rd, and we’re down 1-2. It’s not like we’re getting dominated out there. Our PP does need to be a lot better though

As I said elsewhere, I think this team got REALLY banged up at the worst possible time. The extra rest did nothing it turns out. Only Nuke looks remotely healthy/engaged, and it took until game 3 for him to finally show up.

Debating whether or not I will continue to watch. I'm already tuning out the Nuggets. And I'm way too old to care about what makes a "good fan" and what not. If it's not remotely enjoyable to watch, I'm not going to force myself when there are much better ways to waste time.
This is the thing for me. I'll watch my team if it's "fun", and by "fun", I mean they seem engaged, competitive, and hungry for victory. If they are playing like ass and don't really seem to have any spirit, it's not really any fun.

Wow. Didnt expect that today. Sounds like AJ did some scummy shit.

Wait, hold up, where are you getting that idea? Because the drunken idiot who started all this was screaming off camera? The only we know happened was that AJ got pushed.
Apparently this is about some girl who usually shows up in the chat during the live stream?

Of course they can still win the series. It’s been very close. A frustrating couple games, time to see what the Avs are made of.
