Whatever adjustments were made after the 1st period seem to be working.

The Avs played a really solid 3rd period. Their plan was clearly to keep things simple by focussing on getting the puck deep with simple plays. Unfortunately the refs decided they needed to get involved which killed the 5v5 momentum and gave Dallas a chance. At least the Avs have had a couple of PP's themselves as well.

HAVE to make the 3:20 PP to start OT count as you know the refs will be keen to give Dallas the next one after that.

Give the Norris to Werenski if Makar doesn’t come through on the PP.

And last year’s MVP to Kucherov. Nate can keep the Ted Lindsay though.

If the Avs don't score on this PP. Dallas will score on this PP.

The game ends before the 3:20 does.

Yeah third didn't look too bad outside the shorthanded situations.

The perfect time for the intermission so that Bennett can drill into the powerkill unit to force the bumper pass.

The Avs are 0-6. Pretty impressive to blame the refs for anything at all.

My best guess - because I've seen this before professionally and even personally.

He's got a fiancé. When it ain't going right at home, you can loose focus. Especially if you are a difficult person to get along with.

That's total speculation. But I remember so many athletes performances going in the tank because we learned (long after the fact) that their old lady's weren't happy or getting their way.

Bottom line... (now I am being serious...) Playoff teams used to sequester their squads. Home and away, so that they would focus on nothing but the business.

1985-86 Montreal Canadians - Alcatraz Hotel. Ask Claude, Ask Patrick. They lived it.

"Know your people". People, coaches, leaders, know this. So coach... we're watching thru the boob tubes, aka monitors. But your summations are absolutely valid. There have been several snapshots of mac the last few games, and mebbe is just me, or you and me... or everyone here.. Something is wrong with mac. Thought it was not physical, but headspace. And that is infectious. How many organizations have I, we, we all... seen implode based on headspace conflicts. This team does not have the horses to compete deep in these POs this year, my opinion. But this team is collectively off too.

So your look at this is not unreasonable, at all. Frustrating af, but you live by the mac, you expire by the mac.

Find it interesting, and cool, and refreshing, to have you open up and post this.
