I honestly thought the 2nd line looked pretty good. But there still needs to be a change because Necas and Mack together isn’t working.

MacK and Necas play too similarly (lots of flash and high risk plays), they need guys that can just be simple and maintain possession. I don't know why Bednar can't see this

Serious question because I'm not some hockey guru, I just love the sport, but how do you counter what Dallas is doing to slow us down and controlling the puck in our own end now? Like what does Bednar need to change to regain some leverage here and get our stars playing to their abilities?

Amazing period of play. Just a casual 19% xGF 5v5 vs a short handed Stars team. Not only somehow outdoing their garbage level of play from game 2, but also doing it with their Captain making his long awaited 3 year return. Basically, all you could ask for by a real cup contender.

DeBoer truly is the Bednar's kryptonite.

DeBoer doesn't have some magic. Or is making next level adjustments.

I mean you talk about the Avs only getting past the second round once with this core. DeBoer owning Bednar is the cause of three of those years, and possible a fourth this year. The Avs can't keep falling for the same trap.

I think it was @Pokecheque who's been saying that MacK must be nursing something a bit more serious than what's been let on. The more I see MacK, the more I think it might be true. He doesn't have that explosive step and so easily knocked off the puck. Looks bad.

It's not that the Avs can't pass, it's that the only passes they go for are the big home run swings. There aren't too many teams that don't seem capable of supporting each other to create space

Simplify. Dump and chase and force Dallas' shitty D to make mistakes. They're allowing virtually nothing through the neutral zone.

So much this....enough with the pretty pass entries....go fourth line grinding style....make them chase....hit them constantly and get them gassed.

I've seen enough of Bednar

I'm getting a lot of the same feelings I had during the Avs Foppa/Sakic run, it's like they don't really think coaching makes a difference. I honestly think a top tier tactician during that era leads to at least 1-2 more Cups for the Avs, and similar with this edition of the Avs team - more aggressive roster moves and a coach that can make high level in game adjustments and they also probably have another 1-2 Cups.
