Value of: Ryan Strome to WPG

31yr old, right shot C, signed for 5m AAV until 2027
So far this season he’s 7 G, 23 A, in 54 GP

I think he’d be a good fit on the Jets as a 2C with Ehlers…but not sure what ANA would look for in return.
Either Ryan alone or maybe a package of Strome + Dumoulin

I dont realistically think Ryan Strome is available... hes kinda been our most reliable center and a leader in the locker room. Not too sure the team is ready to get rid of him yet.... nor do i think we have internal solutions to fill that area.

Lundestrom hasnt exactly showed he can be a 3c.... Idk that Gaucher will end up a 3c.... i guess we could go Carlsson- McTavish - Zegras down the middle /shrug.

In terms of value idk what to expect for him.... 2.5 years at 5 (w/o potential retention).... Consistent 40+ point guy that can kill penalties... id prob be looking at something like Henrique/monohan as a comprable(but strome has more term left).

Dumo... my guess is wed be hoping for a 3rd pushing for a 2nd (since we paid a 4th to get him), likely end up with a 3rd.

I think you get more than that for him, though
I’d want Strome and Dumoulin both, as WPG has needs at bottom pairing LHD.

One of those "where is the upside" situations.

He has actually be pretty good this year, he isn't blocking anyone, his contract is not hurting the Ducks in any way, he seems to be a big lockeroom guy, and he was the first UFA signing PV made.

I doubt a 2nd really moves the needle.

Strome has been good for the Ducks, but I'm sure if they got a 1st they'd probably have to consider it. That said, I honestly don't think he's worth that ... if you want him to be a 2C he'll disappoint you, and I don't think giving up a 1st for a good 3C is good usage of that asset; you can get someone more impactful. Might be different when he's a pending UFA, but the Ducks sure do seem to like their Ranger Reject crew.
