Krejci not a #1C by any means

Do we need to do this again? The "lead the whole league in points in two years in the playoffs"... "15th center overall in points in 15-16"... "9th overall in points per game in 15-16 for centers who played at least 70 games"... "7th overall for assists for centers in 15-16"... etc etc... Please not again...

Dumba + Pominville + ? For Krejci

What would the plus need to be?

--------------------------------------

Forgot this was a Spooner thread after the first couple posts. I'd probably move Brodin for Spooner+ Although Brodin is a LHD that plays the right side.

I would not move Brodin for Spooner as the base parts any longer. Spooner does not fit in MIN currently. I'd rather have Haula play 3C and Spooner won't supplant Staal or Koivu on the top two lines. Spooner's a great player but just simply not the type of C the Wild should be after now.

You want Dalton Prout for Spooner?

Actually, watching that makes me reconsider whether I want him on any other team besides my Jackets.

Bruins already have two expensive Dalton Prouts in McQuaid and Miller. Need someone who can skate and pass a little. They don't need to be a top 2 puck mover but a second pair guy with a decent first pass is what I'd want.

It wouldn't be one-for-one for Spooner, who is worth more, but Cody Goloubef is a good skater and puckmover who can fill in on the second pair. He could probably score 25-30 pts with decent minutes, he just won't get them in Columbus, because of Savard and Jones. That and Torts doesn't like him.

The Bruins have some chips to throw around on top of Spooner. Colin Miller, Joe Morrow, perhaps our 2017 first. Brodin or Dumba would be ideal.

Speaking as a Bruin fan, I think our fanbase drastically overrates Spooner. He isn't returning a top 2 D which many seem to think will be the case.

Krejci perhaps can under the right circumstances, but no one is adding anything substantial to a guy like Shattenkirk to get him. If Shattenkirk said he'd resign with Boston Id make that 1 for 1 swap every day. He's a top line center on some teams purely by a points per basis in the same way a guy like Plekanec can be, but neither are in the upper echelon . I can easily name 30 centers in the league today I'd take over him when considering age, salary, skillset, and ceiling.

If they can move Spooner for a high end dman I'd be shocked. Krejci I could see it.

Bruins fans need to accept that Spooner has no value around the league right now. Small pure skill centers with little jam, leadership or defensive ability need to hit about 65 points/season before they command real trade value. Bottom line is that Spooner isn't helping the Bruin's win games right now and the rest of the league sees that.

Id rather see something like this.....

To Anaheim
Krejci

To Boston
Fowler

Or

To St. Louis
Krejci
2nd round pick

To Boston
Shattenkirk

Ducks have a budget we can't afford Krejci. Also this has nothing to do with Spooner for a RHD.

Krejci isn't a 1st line center? Have people never seen his play before? He absolutely is.

And Spooner doesn't get you A RHD that is capable of playing with Chara.

Despres? He shoots left, but plays right side

Dumba and Brodin are drastically different Dmen. Only thing they have in common is that they are young, and can skate.

Since you guys re-signed Krug i would guess that Dumba would be less of a priority. Brodin is LH, but as noted earlier, can, and has, played lots of RD.

Since Staal's signing I would think that getting Spooner would not be that important for the Wild. Staal will be a stopgap till EK and Kunin arrive. Both Granlund and Coyle can play C if need be. I actually like Coyle at C more than wing, as it allows him to wind it up in the D zone and rush it up the ice. Most Wild fans prefer him on the wing, where he can bring a heavy forecheck and be a net front guy.

I wouldn't say that. It's just that Top 4 D, especially RH top 4 D, are worth a fortune right now.

If Spooner improves on the dot this year and continues to put up points like he did last year he'll have value.

Why on earth would we be adding for Shattenkirk? He's in his walk year.
