Played hard for the Kings? Lol that's hilarious, there are many ways to describe Smyth's play in the second half of the 2011 season, working hard would not be one of them.

It was all a calculated move by the Pros Pro to get more money, because he knew the Oilers would be the most likely team to overpay this stiff after his contract ended in 2012, and sure enough they did. Lets not forget this is the same guy who went on tv and cried about leaving EDM over a couple hundred thousand a year, saying how he would always be an Oiler at heart, blah blah blah. Then goes out that summer and signs with the division rival Avs, who you guessed it, offered the most money. Nothing wrong with being a money first player, plenty of guys like Yashin, Semin and Peca are, but just be honest about it. Smyth is a lie and a fraud. And a crappy hockey player on top of it.
