That excuse only applies to Matt Rempe hits.Would've been shoulder to shoulder if Nurse was a foot taller.
More than Jeannot for sure. Rielly and Spezza had the book thrown at them.Jeannot for 3 so I’m guessing the same
And anything Chara did in his careerThat excuse only applies to Matt Rempe hits.
sorry tanner Jeannot already has that titlef***ing plug who's awful at hockey, maybe the worst player in the league, trying to get his spotlight for the season. Dirty af but I'm sure his pal in DoPs will give him just a game.
I mean it's also a borderline charge that could have been called had there not been a headshot, he's above the circles and on opposite size of the ice when he starts to hunt him and takes several hard strides before accelerating into him, even if he's gliding just before doesn't mean it can't be a charge. the rule explicitly mentions distance travelled.
coupled with a defenseless player picking up and trying to control a rolling puck off the boards, it's pretty bad.
You're playing with fire making that hit, doesn't matter if your elbows down or didn't jump into it. you can't hit the head.
Would’ve been a beautiful hit had it not been primarily all head. Nurse was caught in La La landNurse with his head down stupidly watching the puck on his stick. A few years ago Reaves would have been lauded for that hit. Now when players make stupid mistakes the pitchforks come out and the crowd is ready to hang the hitter.

that is because medical folk and in fact, most of the general public are aware that doctors are now permitted to provide a diagnosis of a concussion, now known as CTE...fact is Reeves needs to hit his fellow employee in the NHL players Union in the shoulder there and not target his head and provide brain damage to a co-worker...Nurse with his head down stupidly watching the puck on his stick. LOVED seeing that bone crushing hit by Reaves. That would not even have been a penalty - - and definitely not a suspension - - before Gary Bettman turned the NHL into a cream puff league.
Nurse should never come wheeling out with his head down like that. Hopefully this is a reminder lesson and he doesn’t make that mistake anytime soon.
Notice that not a single Edmonton player went after Reaves. They didn’t even give him a dirty look.
I know, right? I mean, in that situation even someone in a vegetative state would be aware enough to not aim their shoulder directly at someone's head.zero situational awareness.

This thread really highlights the people who peaked in high school. How many people have to make this dumb take?
Who was going to fight him? Connor Brown? Adam Henrique?
wtf does swinging a stick at someones head have to do with throwing a body check? You're completely out to lunch.A few? Yeah, like 10 years ago. It doesn't matter what was accepted a decade ago. You can't make the head the principal point of contact. Your post is just white noise.
Might as well talk about how it was cool to two-hand swing your stick at a player's head in the 40s and 50s.
