Value of: Ryan Pulock

DALLAS
This seems like a really good fit to me. Dallas would probably buy out or trade Dumba. Plan A might be to try and convince the Islanders to take Dumba back as part of this Pulock trade. Even if that doesn't work, they could find another way to jettison Dumba.
What do you give us to take him? Value is off.

With his injury history and the term left, it sounds like the bidding won't go that high for Pelech, so perhaps no Sillinger or LDBB involved. I still hope to see Pelech acquired though.

Islander fans naturally have no idea what new management will look like.

However, it's thinkable that the new group will want to do some housecleaning in order to take things in a different direction.

And for now, fans are thinking it's going to be a calculating group coming in.

Something like Pelech for Ceulemans and a 2026 4th could be the kind of ask a new group would look for.

Definitely lesser than Mailloux, a mid 1st imo is pretty much in line with his value, so add a Roy/Mesar/Farrell type

If the new management group is looking to ship some bodies out in order to give the Islanders a new look, they'd surely ask big but an offer of Engstrom, Roy, and a 2025 3rd rounder would likely get it done.

This is all assuming that players like Pulock and Pelech would waive their NTCs.

Also would mean no retention from the Isles.

To be honest, (A) I'm not a Dallas fan and (B) I'm personally more interested in if there's a framework for a trade that theoretically works for both teams than what the exact pieces would be. Would definitely be interested to see a Dallas fan respond to you on that one though.
Personally I don’t want Dumba anywhere near this team, especially if TDA is coming back for cheaper. Bad combo to have both in the same locker room.

You could probably flip Dumba for Desharnais straight up with the Sharks. Dumba is in theory the better player, but higher cap hit. Both 3rd pair RHD on one year contracts.

That’s one too many moves to wind up with Desharnais wasting a spot that they could just use for a player in the system who needs the NHL playing time (to start atleast). If Dumba is acquired and flipped, I’d rather take back an expiring forward in return.
I also feel like Pelech is the one on the way out with Engvall and Mayfield being buyouts and Duclair dumped for who knows what. They’ll go with a barebones roster of expiring contracts then move forward with the future.

I probably do that too

Why would Mayfield be a buyout? I would keep him or trade him.
I could see him being moved but it would be to minimize the cap hit. He’s substantially cheaper of a buyout then Duclair, Pelech or Pulock. The new GM needs to figure out what to do with them and Engvall when it comes to the contracts of all 5.
