There’s no reason for Brad Lambert anymore now that his uncle isn’t making a mess of the Islanders lineup anymore. Isles pass. There’s too many defensemen on the roster so Ville can stay up north in the tundra and Iafallo doesn’t move the needle.
 
From the Leafs Id give up knies + for Dobson. Would suck giving up knies in a package but Dobson would vastly improve the Leafs d core.

It would be Knies and a couple of plusses. Lots of value to make up there

I'd likely add a 1st and our first rounder from last year in danford. If Dobson goes for more then that the Leafs are probably out but it would be a great haul for the islanders regardless.

With all of the recent D pickups by the Islanders (Perunovich, Deangelo, Boqvist) there will be a roster crunch as the team starts to get healthy. They've all played pretty well so far (especially Deangelo), and with the probable impending losses of Nelson and Palmieri after this season we'll need to plug those holes. Islanders never get free agents, so right now it seems like trading one of these two is the best way to go.

Pulock has 5 years left on a 6.15M deal and has a NTC, so will likely only waive to go to a contender. Dobson has no trade protection and is due a new contract after this season. I'd prefer to trade Pulock, but Dobson seems like the easier one to move. What can your team offer for one of these top 4 RHD?

Gonna have to do better than Ville Heinola. He’s not moving the needle in the proper direction with this trade plus the Isles have enough guys in the 6/7 defenseman spot in the organization.

If it was Nemec + Meier for JGP/Cizikas and Dobson (plus whatever from either side to offset it) it would fill both needs. That however would be an interesting type of trade.

I can't see the canucks moving petterson now that miller is gone. A deal from the canucks feels like it would be more in the boeser + willander range.

Honestly I think if the Isles are going to move Dobson it would be for someone who is already an all star around the same age (probably no older than 27), not for a package of stuff that could turn out really well. He's an insanely risky guy to trade to begin with, so I'm sure Lou is trying to mitigate the chances it turns out really really bad.

Petterson, Kyrou/Thomas, Johnston/Hintz, Boldy/Rossi, Keller/Cooley... these are the types of guys I think Lou would be going after, and I'm sure he's trying to keep it to the western conference if possible.

Man, I would love if Utah would get involved...Keller/Cooley are exactly what this team needs. EP is out, Not sure about the two from the Blues. No chance Minny moves Boldy, but I can see the moving Rossi. Johnston/Hintz are interesting.
 
I honestly can't see the Blues moving Kyrou or Thomas for Dobson. I know there's rumors (all centering around Kyrou), but I just can't see it. Blues desperately need scoring. Trading away one of their only three players that can consistently generate offense feels like taking three steps back to take one step forward.

also not very excited to see Dobson's next contract.
