Proposal: Ryan Pulock or Noah Dobson for your Top 6 Winger or Center

I think Dach or Laine would need to come with a +++. I can see something around Dach as the isles could be in need of a C next season, but it’ll involve adding something you probably really don’t want to.

Honestly any trade for Dobson doesn’t make a ton of sense to me from Vancouver’s POV for exactly that reason. I guess there’s no reason to rush Wallinder and there’s no guarantee he’ll stick… still having two guys on long term contracts in front of him feels odd
Vancouver would have a very good defence group. Willander has a ton of value and expect he could net a very good young forward in a trade.

I'll fly to Denver so I can help drive Mittelstadt to the airport if it means the Avs can get Dobson.
Casey’s flight has been rerouted back to Colorado and cancelled with no chance of rebooking. It might be rebooked after the rest of his $17.25m bill is paid by the Avalanche. You could always try sending him home to Minnesota instead though.

If either Pulock or Dobson are moved it must be for a legit top 6 forward. Especially with Barzal out for an unknown period of time but one would think at least 4-6 weeks.

I would love to kick the tires on Filip Forsberg, Jordan Kyrou, Brock Boeser type of moves for example. I don’t see how the Isles could trade one of these 2 (especially Dobson) and not get legit top 6 forward help.

If the Isles are going to go anywhere this year and for the future, the power play must improve and if Dobson is going the other way then it needs to be for someone who could make an impact on the pp and obviously 5on5.

The Canucks would/could be insterested in Dobson. Our top six is still settling, but would futures be of any interest?

...Or conversely adding a C for a winger?

Which center/winger are you talking about in this case? No interest in Dakota Joshua honestly, especially for Noah Dobson and Filip Chityl is one hit away from eating out of a straw for the next 30 years.

Nah, Boeser might be made available, negotiations/performance dependant of course.

Joshua is given a lot of slack for declining, due to cancer treatment screwing up his preseason and all, and even the Canucks haven't gotten sick of Chytil....yet.

I wouldn’t even say the cancer treatment for Joshua but I’d peg him as a 3rd liner who can come up if necessary. Not really what the Isles need. Chityl used to aggravate me with Isles-Rags games. Guy is straight up scared of contact but not afraid to get hack happy if someone goes near him. Guy tried to duck an open ice hit causing himself to get injured then thought he was being funny by hacking Scott Mayfield on the hand the next time they played eachother.

Boeser is the interesting one depending on if he can get his game back to the way it was when he was truly that consistent scoring threat and the contract.

Oh, I'm not trying to sell you players that don't fit, don't get me wrong, but sort of oversharing why I don't think we'd try to move either guy you mentioned.

I have no doubt Boeser will bounce back. Hopefully tonight, given he broke his scoring drought last game, but he hasn't really shown the same oomph other guys have with Miller's trade. If he was playing at a high level at least half the time, he'd be locked down for what ever he'd be asking for. But with everything that's happened recently, and his play not picking up immeadiately, it wouldn't shock me to see him moved, although I'd be pretty bummed out to lose him.
