Not his last season. Hes truly a fantastic goalie

I hated the signing and his first year sucked but last year and this year are unbelievable. Hes seriously playing UNREAL right now

Doubt Buffalo would want him

Maybe Dallas would make more sense

Your opinion doesn't hold much value when you will say the exact opposite tomorrow.

Not needed this year but if the Sabres are a playoff team next year would love to have him on a cheap 1 year deal as a vet backup. It's a shame he never had a truly great blueline in front of him.

And I don't think he wants to go back, he doesn't want to leave the west coast, right?

Thats always been Ryan Millers resume. Play lights out, all star caliber when he is on bottom feeder teams or teams with very low to no expectations.

Put him on a team where expectations are high, he sucks.

Buffalo has The Ghost of Hasek between the pipes.

The Ghost of Hasek, other than his football counterpart, The Ghost of Kelly who makes every QB after him look like ****, is a benevolent ghost.
Miller, Enroth, Neuvirth, Lindbäck, Johnson, now Nilsson and Lehner. He's made them look like Vezina caliber goalies at some point during their tenure in Buffalo despite being mostly late round picks or waiver fodder.

Seriously, though, goalie is just not a position the Sabres should worry about.

As a poster above aaid...next year if we are a playoff team...sure. right now...why?
Which begs the question, who are we re-signing between Lehner and Nilsson this offseason... and whoever we sign, if we're a playoff team with them, why would we go after Miller?

EDIT: Unless the idea is we sign him this offseason as a vet backup (didn't realize he was a UFA). Which is a neat idea, as long as he comes cheap.

I'm not worried. Backups can be found easily enough especially if your scouts are good. The sabres have had no shortage of decent backups/1b goalies.

The more interesting question is what does buffalo do if nilsson walks and somehow albeit unlikely ullmark gets taken in expansion...

This might be Millers last year and what would we get in return for Miller maybe he wants to retire in Buffalo

Ryan Miller
Conditional 2nd contingent on Moulson and/or Nillson play.

for

Matt Moulson.
Anders Nillson

Buffalo doesn't have much use for Miller, especially with a cap hit of six million.

If he wants to back up Lehner next year for less then 2 million a year, then sure.

Furthermore, the guy grew up in Michigan and his wife is an actor. If Miller wants to play one more year in a place that has a personal connection to him, he might very well pick Anaheim, LA, or Detroit ahead of Buffalo.

Didn't he win a Vezina on a nearly above average Buffalo team?
