McD is incredible, what a developmental year for him. Wow. I honestly never thought he would be in the same tier as Doughty when he joined the team.

One post away from being a total hero last night, and was one of the best players in the two biggest hockey stages in the world.

Who cares what the homers on the main boards think. This guy is top 3-5 in the league.

Anyone notice McDonagh has REALLY improved his shot, in all aspects? It's more accurate, harder, and he gets it off cleaner. If he could improve a bit more his offense would be every bit as good as Subban's.

I was thinking this. It's to the point where it's legitimately really good.

If he can continue to improve this there is no reason he can't pot 60 points a year in his prime.

I wonder if Mac was playing injured those first two rounds or if it was just rust. To go even further, was he playing hurt in the final two rounds and he just was able to battle through it while getting the rust off? The turnaround he had from the first two series to the Habs series and on was remarkable.

McDonagh had a brutal 10 game start.

And was far and away their best skater in the last 15 games.

McDonagh played elite hockey after Game 5 against Pittsburgh.

Anybody have his post game interview from last night? Heard he was shaking and didn't say much outside "yes" and "no".

Don't bother going to main forum. McD is like Mike Green and Erik Karlsson now. His defensive is overrated. Oh and Drew Doughty is Bobby Orr, Brian Boyle making him look silly doesn't matter. Doughty scored a sick goal in game 1! That's all that matters.

im not a fan of doughty.. mcdonagh i think is better bc of his defense.. and honestly playing steller d is what is suppose to be expected out of dman, way more important, doughty coughed the puck up a lot. if we were looking at pts, then karlson by far is the best dman.. but points doesn't tell the story..

if i were starting a team tomorrow, the only dman i would take over mcdonagh would probably be weber keith or maybe MAYBE sutter, which i think MAC is right there with them..

Make this man the next captain of this team. I want to see him patrolling the blue line for this team for the next 10 plus years.

Can't wait to see him continue to develop. Our blue line is set for awhile with this kid leading the way.

lol I've heard him compared to Mike Green and [a lesser] Erik Karlsson in the last few days.

Gotta wonder what the **** people are watching. He's inherited Duncan Keith syndrome.

"Yeah, he's great at defense, but can he put up points?"

Main boards are the Mos Eisley of HFBoards.

I can't read those threads without wanting to hurl multiple objects across the room.

I've been saying it forever, he's the second most valuable player on this team after Lundqvist and there's not a doubt in my mind that he's the next captain.

Mac Truck is my favorite player. He has more to give on the offensive side too. He just seems a little tentative still. Amazing talent though

Is it mostly Kings fans who are defensive about the fact that Rangers fans think he's in the same stratosphere as Doughty?

McDonagh is the best dman we've had since Leetch, and has the potential to be the best Dman in the history of the franchise. I hope he becomes that.

He's the best we've had since Leetch. Let's leave it at that for now. Better than Leetch/Park is an extremely high mountain to climb. Does he really have that kind of potential? That would require being a career Ranger, winning three or more Norris trophies, a Conn Smythe, a Cup, and entering the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Lot's of people besides Kings fans, out of jealousy and bitterness for obvious reasons. McDonagh embarrassing the Canadiens while PK was a detriment every time he was on the ice was probably hard to cope with.
