Is he still just a "defensive defenseman"? I think he gets 50 points easily next season and becomes a top 5 D-man.

Or is the main board right and he sucks when pressured and is lost in the cycle? Seriously, I didn't see it, outside of goal #4 in game #2. I thought he had to carry Girardi this series. But I'm curious about this board. I didn't think he was great defensively this series, but neither was anyone. I think one series really skews people's opinions. We've been one of the best possession teams in the league all year, that doesn't happen when your #1 D-man sucks when pressured and is lost in the cycle.

I thought McDonagh was good all around this series. I feel like this run has somehow accelerated his growth. The best is still yet to come for McDonagh. I agree with your prediction.

Stop caring about what other boards think. We know what we have in Ryan McDonagh. If a bunch of clueless tools on other boards can't see it that's their problem. We just played two series in a row with other "top" dmen in Doughty and Subban and saw both of them make egregious mistakes that lead to goals against. None of them are perfect.

Anyone notice McDonagh has REALLY improved his shot, in all aspects? It's more accurate, harder, and he gets it off cleaner. If he could improve a bit more his offense would be every bit as good as Subban's.

Yeah Brian ****ing Boyle and Benoit Pouliot made Doughty look silly this series. Somehow Doughty is great and McDonagh sucks against pressure and gets lost in the cycle. Being handicapped with Girardi made no diffence right?

McDonagh has been great.

People care about flashy. Look no further than game 1 with Doughty. Scores a nice goal, also has a horrible giveaway for Pouliot goal. Nobody seemed to mention the giveaway.

But serious question, maybe I missed it. Did he really have problems with the pressure and cycle? I thought it was mostly Girardi, maybe I missed something.

If McDonagh gave that puck away and scored that goal, you'd hear about the giveaway. I think bottom line is McDonagh wasn't the highly touted prospect that Doughty was, so he'll always get his ass kissed. I thought McDonagh was better this series than him. Doughty didn't look like anything special this series.

Doughty is arguable, but Subban? Really?

Surprised you didn't get the sarcasm, I was layin it on pretty thick. Especially considering it's been a running joke among HFNYR after reading the main boards and seeing posts like "Subban >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>McDonagh" <- Actual post I saw.

I have a question, because I don't venture out into the cesspool that is the main boards often.

Were people REALLY saying Doughty>>>McD this series, or is that just us feeling disrespected?

Haven't read anything about Doughty, but apparently he's good to great sometimes, but not close to a Norris, can be had if pressured, and gets lost in the cycle. It's not that I'm upset about (yeah it's annoying though), I just wonder if I was watching the games incorrectly.

LMFAO.

HF posters are ****ing awful.

I think McDonaugh and Doughty proved pretty definitively these playoffs that they are the two best D-Men in the league, and neither are Norris finalists.

Keith, Weber, and Pietrangelo are all pretty fantastic. Karlsson plays a completely different game, but he's a superstar as well.

Haha apologies, but this face is your friend! ---> :sarcasm:

edit: nm you just added it lol.

13 in 15 for Kreider despite some uneven play.

Couldn't be more excited to watch those two continue to develop next year.
