Haha...that's why I always use the 5 year rule...which is, I don't judge a player until 5 years after they are drafted. So I'll hold my criticism on Ryan until the 2014-15 season ends. (or 2015-16 if there's no hockey this year)

Thats fine I was just responding to what you wrote about not playing 18 minutes a night. You didnt respond to the OP you responded to Mayor Bee about his list of players. I believe part of the process is learning where you have to be in order to compete at the highest stage.

There are good learning techniques and poor ones IMO.

Limited playing time, getting scratched for 9 games in the second half, playing out of position, on a losing team going nowhere, is this a recipe for success?

Is that how Detroit develops players for instance?

the lockout and AHL this year is finally helping his development IMO.
 
Watched Johansen this past weekend vs Norfolk, and he looked good, second best prospect out there. Cam Atkinson looked the best, but he is obviously older and on a different development path than RJ.

Thought he (RJ) looked 10 times better than Etem (who scored) or Smith-Pelly. Has really slick hands and moves well for such a big kid. Would have liked to seen a little more physicality.

I am a Bruin's fan, but live near Springfield (AHL), so I don't really have a horse in this fight.
