Glad he got the book. Wish it was more honestly.

But the whole hockey play thing is annoying. The majority of suspensions aren’t hockey plays.

I think he should slink off and let sleeping dogs lie.

If he appeals, be nice if the League could tack on an extra 5 for the hassle.

No a chance League would reduce it. In real life he’d be dinged hard in real court for what was essentially a curb stomping.
You're right. A two week break for the All-Stars is about 8 games missed so it's like he got 18 games in time and money lost.

Seems like the bare minimum for what a guy with his history should have gotten given the obvious intent to injure. Guys like him don't feel any remorse for their actions they're just sorry they got caught and punished.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the longest suspension for on-ice conduct since Wilson's hit on Sundqvist in 2018.

I think it's well deserved. Unlike pretty much every other suspension since then, you can't possibly argue any part of it is a hockey play. There was no intent to do anything other than injure, and you can really, really hurt someone by driving their face into the ice with weight on their neck. (Ask Steve Moore)

His Cap hit is 4.000 but his salary is 5.000 which means his stupidity cost him about $610k

Could have easily been more with his history. At least the DOPS didn't just slap him on the wrist
