As a Rangers fan, I can say I've been disgusted by how fans turned on him. He has been one of my favorite players - he will do anything for the team. He makes any team better. His skill is underrated too. Idiot fans were saying he isn't even a top 6 forward last year. Well, he is on the top line averaging a point a game. He plays two-way hockey. He plays the game the right way. Damn I miss him. MSL isn't close to the complete player Callahan is, at least at this point of their careers.

There is not one Real Ranger fan that talks or even misses the injury prone, greedy sob. We love MSL, without him last season we DO NOT go to the SCF. Cally was a nice player for us but was injury prone and not worth the contract he was asking for. To the TB fans, you have a good player in Cally but we are very happy with MSL

When you're using these adjectives to compare a player who was traded for a player who DEMANDED to be traded and would only go to ONE TEAM then your description begins to lose weight.

He was traded over a NMC which his friend Giradi got, and Sather refused to give him a single year. He then took less in Tampa, and did not even test the market. Not sure how that is greedy. :help:

Don't engage. We gave up an aging winger for a PPG two-way forward in his prime. I'm happy with the trade. Let Rags fans be salty.

Edit: Basically, we are (were?) salty with how Marty left town. Rags fans are salty because Cally is playing well. Let them cook.

Do you think MSL will even return next season to the Rangers? He will have to take a serious pay cut. They need to re-sign a bunch of guys like Stepan who is going to be the definition of greedy since Brassard is getting 5 Million now, and plus they don't have the cap space to give all these raises.

Looking at stats this year 24 is a better player than 26 in all facets to say nothing of two #1 picks.

We're very happy to have Callahan and his old rangers teammates and friends seem to be happy for him as well even if it comes against them since they know what kind of player and guy he is and that he have earned everything he gets by hard work and they seem happy that he have gone somewhere where he can successfully play his style. I'm also still not sure why reaching the SCF is what some rangers fans uses against Cally, I mean MSL had no part in Price's getting injured so who knows if they hadn't made it that far with Cally as well. I'm also sure that if rangers would have gone all the way they would have made sure that Cally's name would be on it as well for what he had done earlier in the season (same if we would have won and added MSL's name) just like the hawks did with a player that had been injured most of the season when they won it in 2010. I do think it's best to ignore the ney-sayers and focus on the fact that we have such a great guy and player on our team now.

I saw that, very well deserved:

SECOND STAR – RYAN CALLAHAN, RW, TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Callahan registered 3-2—5 in two games, tying for third in the NHL in goals and fifth in points to power the Lightning (16-6-2, 34 points) to a pair of victories and a share of first place in the League standings. He notched 2-1—3, his second multi-goal game of the season, in a 4-3 win over his former team, the New York Rangers, Nov. 26. Callahan then posted 1-1—2 for his eighth multi-point performance of the season in a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators Nov. 29. The 29-year-old Rochester, N.Y., native ranks second on the Lightning with 11 goals and places third with 21 points in 19 outings this season; he didn't score his 11th goal until his 40th contest in 2013-14. Since joining Tampa Bay at the 2014 Trade Deadline, the Lightning are 14-0-0 when Callahan finds the back of the net.

Callahan's played roughly 40 games for us, and right now I wouldn't trade him straight up for MSL (let alone Callahan + two 1st rounders). So both teams are happy. Yay.

In his 39 games with us he has 17 goals (7 on the PP) and 15 assists for 32 points at +13, 14 PIM, 99 hits and 26 blocks.

Not too shabby.

Better numbers than a lot of the more 'skilled' first-line PFs, like Lucic, Backes, etc.

But that's just because he's a sneaky, greedy third-liner blowing the dog that occasionally blows Stamkos :sarcasm:

All in all im less salty towards the whole MSL thing after how the bolts organization treated him with his return and his 1000pt.

Wish he got more points last night, made two great plays to keep the puck in the zone that led to goals.

Where are you getting those numbers from??

It says Stamkos has 16 and Coattailahn has 21.

LOL just saw this, Coattailahn

BTW, thinks he means Stamkos is getting credit for Cally's stars, lol.

Congrats to Cally on his 150th Career goal. Looks like he is starting to heat up again. But seriously, he is clearly now riding on Flip's coattails.

The more you watch this guy the more you understand what a player he is.

So happy he is with the Lightning.

Stupid Nabby ruining such a good statistic...

Oh well, it was a nice goal and a good set up by Drouin. Could be good for our 2nd PP unit that they can also create some havoc.
