I haven't seen him play much but can anyone tell me why he hasn't gotten any Liiga games yet?

I think he was injured at the start of the season, so they might have wanted to give him some time in u20 first?

Nordgren wasn't injured.
The reason why Nordgren got his HIFK debut yesterday's CHL game vs Cracovia was next.
Nordgren went hip surgery this past summer and recovery on it affected his summer practice.

That's why Nordgren wasn't Finland's Ivan Hlinka tournament roster and he didn't play earlier in HIFK's liiga team.
Without massive surprises Nordgren's should be HIFK's liiga roster in Thurday's SM liiga game vs Vaasan Sport.

Niklas Nordgren plays tonight his 1st SM liiga game vs Vaasan Sport.
Nordgren plays HIFK's 2nd line with Jarkko Malinen and Juha Pekka Haataja.
 
Solid and OK liiga debut for Nordgren.
Had quiet night offensively and didn't score any points but also didn't disappoint either.

Very solid player. Strong on his skates, quick bursts to gain some separation and gets involved physically. Low center of gravity and keeps puck close so it's hard to strip him.
 
Scored 2 two goals yesterday's A juniors SM liiga game vs Lahden Pelicans.
Tonight's Ässät vs HIFK game Nordgren is HIFK's 13th forward.
 
Played on HIFK's 1st line today and looked pretty good. Intriguing prospect, he could be this year's Finnish sleeper pick in the 2nd round.
 
Recorded his first career point assisting in 1st period HIFK's 2nd goal vs HPK tonight's SM liiga game.
Nordgren played HIFK's 4th line with Micke Åsten and Jerry Ahtola and got icetime 10:22
 
Considering how he has played everytime I have seen him play, it's kind of surprising he only has one point so far.
 
I feel like this guy might be flying under the radar for the draft. Yes he is small but he is FEISTY when I've seen him. Should be a second rounder at least.
