RW Matvei Michkov (2023, 7th, PHI) Part 6

I think Michkov will end up the most one-dimensional player out of all the Calder candidates. But the Flyers need someone who can provide offense as the rest of the team is an offensive desert.

Yikes take, but your post history is embarrassing, expect nothing less. A Habs homer that can't get over you didn't draft the guy, wild.

Well, my take is completely factual. Michkov is the most one-dimensional of all the Calder candidates. Not sure how you can deny that. He cheats all the time, turns the puck over and is awful in his own zone. Drove Torst mad.

The question that will need to be answered in time is whether Michkov can be responsible in all zones. He's a rookie so he probably gets a pass this season. But he will have to correct that part of his game. I question his dedication to that aspect of the game...
He'll have to improve like a lot of other young players including Bedard, Demidov and Fantilli. It will never be a strength but I agree he'll have to cheat less but I think that will come with learning when he can cheat as the NHL is a lot different than the KHL

Yeah, he's going to be as one-dimensional as Kucherov. I'm pretty sure Flyers fans will be ok with this.

Is there a single Flyers fan in the Buium thread criticizing him? No. The criticism in passing on an obvious choice should be with management. Habs should have Michkov and Demidov together for 15 years, but they don't because their management made a massive mistake.

don't know, the habs is a small soft team with a sloppy defense, and then they have caufiled. michkov is a luxury they can do without.

Yeah, you never actually watched him apparently

Holding onto narratives like your life depends on it.

Most insecure fan base in the world.

I love a lot of Hab dudes. I'm in the Demidov thread praising him, talking about how i don't want to discuss Michkov.

Not a single flyers fan is in a Buium thread like someone stated above. We think the Flyers are dumb for passing on him and Helenius.

Michkov had a great year. Hutson had a great year. Stop texting the girl who rejected you and take the girl who likes you out on a date

A long way to get there. Kuch is underrated defensively

He does have a long way to go, he's also only 20 years old, Kucherov wasn't hitting 100 points until he was 26 and his defensive game was a mess when he was young too. I've also watched every game of Michkov's career, he's showed flashes and signs that he will be competent defensively, which is all you need when you have a offensive talent like Michkov. He's actually quite great at stripping pucks and taking pucks away and it only improved as the year went on. What's obvious and aparent is this is a 100+ point forward in the very, very near future, he's simply too talented and his hockey IQ is way too high, thinks the game differently.

Not a narrative, a factual observation. He’s shite defensively. A mini Laine. But has plenty of time to fix it if he is inclined. May e hire Torts as a player development coach dedicated to Michkov??

Turns the puck over? Speaking of Calder candidates, how ironic that Michkov has fewer giveaways than both Celebrini and Hutson.

Celebrini 70 games 113 giveaways
Hutson 82 games 109 giveaways
Michkov 80 games 82 giveaways
