RW Matvei Michkov (2023, 7th, PHI) Part 6

Michkov is leading Hutson (and all rookies) massively in EVP and P/60. The premium categories to evaluate a prospect I read the whole season in the Demidov thread. The same people now avoiding these facts like Hutson avoiding playing defense.
Facts? Or is it the biased opinion of someone who has no idea what he is talking about?

You guys repeating this over and over isn’t going to make it true.

Also, talking about another player not playing defense in a thread about Michkov is hilarious.

Dude has 14 takeaways all season - he literally doesn’t even try, and is absolutely useless without the puck on his stick.

He avoids contact like the plague (Hutson has more hits than him 😂), and turns the puck over a crazy amount, despite the sheltered minutes he’s played all year.
Lmao tell me you don’t watch him without telling me

You avoided the important part and took the bait.

So, how about EVP and P/60?
A thing or its a scoring race?

Making the playoffs?
Ice time per game?

Age?
Pretty sure Hutson has very good stats in all these categories and you don't seem the realize that Hutson is a defender. I sure as hell hope that Michkov have better offensive metrics as he is a pure offensive forward without a single ounce of 2 way game.

Just look at the stats of the next best rookie defenseman to have an idea of how special what Hutson is doing.

Single ounce of 2-way game is nonsense and in no way helps a discussion.
Moreso in a MM thread, thats not a Calder thread.

The quality of play of the next best rookie dman is totally irrelevant to anything in this thread.

2010-11 Skinner won the Calder with 63 pts. Rookie PK Subban led Habs with 14 goals (9 on pp) while playing tons of minutes (24+ mins/gp). He would often play the whole 2 mins of the pp.

Quinn Hughes 8-45 Dahlin 9-35. Werenski 11-36

I dunno. Are goals worth more than secondary assists?

There is context to numbers. TOI I’d say is important.

The year is 2069. In "RW Matvei Michkov (2023, 7th, PHI) Part 82," several overenthusiastic Habs fans score a final thread victory when Lane Demidov III puts up a 0.89 ppg in his rookie season. Michkov was tragically benched to a permanent end by Cyborg John Tortorella in 2040, so he falls short of the mark (although his plus/minus is better).

David Reinbacher impresses in Laval.

As a Habs fan, this is going too far.

It implies Reinbacher is healthy

A Michkov loving flyer fan claiming Hutson is poor defensively is rich. Michkov is the biggest liability defensively of all forwards in the league. Torts tried to fix him. But some things are unfixable.

Desperation is in fact impressive. Flyers fans desperate to make a case for Michkov for Calder is as desperate as it gets! ;)

The Calder is decided. Its 2nd place that is somewhat debatable. Celebrini or Wolf?

I’ve never said anything about the Calder, I said Hutson doesn’t play defense which is true. Michkov is worth way more than Hutson though and will continue to be as their careers progress. Sorry if that’s hurting your feelings.
