RW Matvei Michkov (2023, 7th, PHI) Part 6

The secondary assist thing has to be one of the dumbest takes I’ve ever seen on this site, and it’s the same posters repeating it over and over. What a hill to die on lmao. It’s almost as dumb as the “relative plus-minus” thing by the same crowd 😂. That’s how you know these people don’t even actually think about the shit they post lol. They’re just saying anything to get a reaction.
Does Hutson have bad defensive analytics ? Check

Does Hutson have bad plus minus related to his teammates ? Check

Does Hutson have a lot of secondary assists ? Check

It’s all facts, why are you so defensive ?

Can’t even see who you’re replying too, the fact that Habs fans are in here and talking about Hutson in an Michkov thread is all you need to know hahaha.

That isn’t even what was being said lol. These guys were comparing Hutson’s plus-minus to the Habs’ team goal differential earlier this season when it was on the positive side. Funnily enough, Hutson is now a “relative plus player” using that same logic, so they’ve abandoned it. There is no rational thought or critical thinking going on in these guy’s heads at all 😂

Hutson doesn’t play defense you’re arguing in a Michkov thread bud. His defensive analytics are horrific. Posting more bs about Hutson doesn’t make you right.
You are right about Michkov’s defensive metrics as horrific. His selfish play, flying the zone leads to goals against. But he’s young. And is a dynamic scorer.

I think Michkov closed the gap on Celebrini but still finishes 3rd in the Calder race. Good rookie season despite his defensive liabilities.

Another Montreal fan in a Michkov thread, see ya next year when Demidov puts up half the points Michkov did this year.

Why are you so bitter? I never mentioned the Habs at all in my factual description of Michkov. Celebrini is clearly the better forward due to Michkov’s defensive deficiencies. But he’s young. Torts deserves credit for trying to improve Michkov’s defensive awareness!

Good take, now post that on your board and see what your buddies think. 😂
Oh, they despise it. It's cope because we didn't select him when it was manifestly obvious that he was the second best player in the draft - I said that day that the only team that might not regret passing on him was Chicago - might. They're still trying to convince themselves that Reinbacher is a better player.

The funniest thing is that guy made the exact same prediction before the season about Demidov in the KHL, and has all kinds of deranged Hutson takes and predictions all over this site too. You’d think by now he’d be a little more hesitant before posting crazy takes, but nope lol.

Can’t believe Poehling is still in the league lol. Not because of his play or anything (idk), but it’s just shocking to see his name. He was on the high speed train to Bustville when he left MTL lmao. How’s he playing these days?
He’s been fantastic in his role

Even crazier is that McCarron is still in the league too, and so was Tinordi up until last season. Seems like these guys all managed to salvage an NHL career after the development hell that was the Habs under Bergevin.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they would’ve been better players had they been drafted elsewhere, but I think they would’ve got to where they are now (Poehling, McCarron)/where they ended up (Tinordi) a lot sooner.

Cool to see Poehling carving out a career for himself. I was a believer way back when, and then he just stagnated until he was shipped out.

Isn't demidov putting up the same numbers this year in the khl than Michkov did last year, with like half the ice time?

I dont think the ice time argument is accurate. Pretty sure their KHL usage in D+1 has been similar, right down to the head coach dicking them around at times. Oh and Michkovs production is better (19 goals, 41 points in 49 games compared to 19 goals, 49 points in 65 for Demidov)
