RW Justin Côté - Drummondville Voltigeurs, QMJHL (2022 undrafted)

6th most goals in the Q, as an 16 year old, 5 foot 6 rookie.

Isn't afraid to go to the corners, tight spaces, despite his small size, stature,
goes front of the net to score some "ugly" goals as well,
has an amazing shot, has some nice wheels to boot, with soft mittens and nifty skill set.

What's people opinion on him? He is entering Cole Caufield territory. Yet, no one seems to be talking about him as a potential 1st rounder, or 2nd rounder for that matter. He is doing well right now.

I was doing some stats checking, I noticed he leads Bantam AAA all-time goal scoring by 10 goals since they changed up the whole program back in 2011 (45 goals in a single season, that's 10 more than the 2nd-position Alexis Lafreniere)

He has a lot of goal scoring potential, perhaps even 50 in the Q. Can he do it next year?

The only 17 years old I can find going back 20 years in the QMJHL that actually scored 50 is of course Sidney Crosby (he actually did it at 16)

And Steve Bernier had 49 goals as a 17 years old (this was back in 2002-03)

That's it. There's no one else. Even 40 for Cote next year would be quite a feat

Some scouts are indeed comparing him to Cole Caufield.

I think no one really talks about Q players outside of the obvious top guns. I remember no one was talking about Mercer last year. I saw him play a couple times and you could see he was a very special player.

As for Cote, what I can see so far is he's a very dynamic type of player. Not afraid to go in the dirty areas and has a rocket of a shot, especially for his weight. Great character and work ethic. Absolutely lethal at the edge of the circles

Of course, needs to add strength. He's got a slightly over average stride right now i'd say but I can see him getting faster as he develops his lower body.

Pfft he was ranked like 1st - 5th overall at some point and somehow dropped to the 2nd round now look at him.

Unreal kid, extremely young and small. NHL Potential though? Not likely.

Has been the best Drummondville player this season
- Peddle comes in good second

The most consistent player too.

6 goals, 6 assists (with 39 shots on goal) so far this season, leads his team in points.
Drummondville has won 6 out of their 12 games.

Is having a really good draft season.

He might be small but damn he is good!.
added two primary helpers to his point count.

What kind? for the game tying and for the game winner goal, in 3rd. #clutch

He is a guy to watch and I would like to see how he does at the u18s if he gets invited.

One of the most multidimensional forwards in the CHL this season.
He might be really small, but so was/is Alex DeBrincat..

Not comparing to him, but just as a reminder, in todays hockey
size (height/weight) is not an issue anymore.
