Jesse has great hockey IQ.He's like Forrest Gump of hockey. Succeeding not with brains, but with sheer hard work and gumption.
I’m not at least yet sold on him having great hockey IQ, although I have to admit that he has looked a lot better with it this year than before.Jesse has great hockey IQ.
Puljujarvi had a pretty bad giveaway today and didn't get demoted, so that's a start.
I’m not at last yet sold on him having great hockey IQ, although I have to admit that he has looked a lot better with it this year than before.
He always had great vision though and could find his teammates often with very nice and accurate passes. The problem with his hockey IQ has been mostly with himself being without the puck. He was following the puck way too much and not reading he plays more in advance and with anticipation.
But I’m for sure not here to diss Jesse, but to point out that he seems to have taken good steps forward with his play, and he really seems to have nice chemistry with McDavid. Hopefully McLeprechaun will finally believe it and will not start messing with them. And God damn! Unleash him and let him for God’s sake have lots of power play time! The goals will start pouring in when he settles in with the power play and can start feeling confident with playing there.
I’m just honestly very happy that he seems to be turning it around very nicely. Way to go Jesse!![]()

We'll have to agree to disagree on that part. I personally believe he reads the game quite well on both sides of the puck. I think he's evidenced it quite clearly with his offensive play, and the multiple times he's broken up grade A chances in the slot, and saved at least 1 or 2 sure goals. He wouldn't be recognizing the threat in those situations if he didn't have the hockey IQ.

Background: I'm a Puljujarvi fan. Also some and probably mostly same people seem to think he must have low IQ or hockey IQ because he didint go to schools and learn English. But thats wrong also, going to school or choosing to use / learn english in your life has nothing to do with IQ. IQ is pure talent, it doesn't matter if you only spoke Sami language, you can still have it.
Hockey IQ to me is pretty similar to IQ. It's making the right choises but its also the thing that you cant get from books or study in theory alot. If you always play the same way, think there is some book way to do it, you become easy to read off. If you truly have good "hockey IQ", you can time after time find a way to surprise and be a step ahead.
Ok, I'll present you with the same challenge, that is to FIND EVIDENCE to back up the claims you are making. You are claiming that someone is saying something that is A. bigoted and B. ludicrous, without a single citation of instances where people have actually made these claims. Now maybe I'm wrong, maybe I missed a post or posts where people made these claims, and if that is the case I would love to be shown. However, you need to stop strawmanning your opposition with absurd arguments they never tried to make if it turns out that no such claims were made.If someone doesnt speak english and in this case it means third language since Swedish is second language in Finland and i think JP speaks swedish. Doesnt mean you have a low IQ. If speaking only 1 language means you are stupid, then most of North-Americans are in that category....

Im saying it because who says pulju has low hockey IQ have nothing to back up their claims. Background: I'm a Puljujarvi fan.
You've said this multiple times, I believe over the course of weeks if not months, without offering substantive evidence. Point us to the place where someone said "his english is poor in this interview, ergo he has low IQ, and low IQ has a direct correlation with hockey IQ." Each time you make a very complex claim which, if true, would be extremely bigoted of anyone to make. But as I've witnessed, and correct me if I'm wrong, no one has tried to make such claims. If it turns out to be the case no one has tried to make these claims then these accusations are baseless and a clear strawman. Evidence is required, as I can only reasonably presume you are not a mind-reader or a psychic of some sort.
Well that's an absurd argument. The logical response to the absence of sound reasoning is to offer your own reasoning (with evidence) and then ask for reasoning, not to assign reasoning to someone and then refute your fabricated reasoning. What you are doing is akin to someone saying Pavel Zacha or another Czech prospect is a poor skater and me jumping in with "you just think that because you assume he's drunk all the time!" Positively ridiculous.Im saying it because who says pulju has low hockey IQ have nothing to back up their claims.
Haven't been able to watch him very much this season but last season at least it was quite evident. It's great that he seems to have gained some momentum this season, but really... How do you "back up your claims" regarding hockey IQ? One could point out examples of plays that show poor hockey IQ and you can just decide to not believe it for one reason or another - it's not like you can objectively prove hockey IQ like you can prove a deep edge or fast acceleration. It requires some in depth analysis and is tough to see in real time.Im saying it because who says pulju has low hockey IQ have nothing to back up their claims.
Honestly, no matter how much one may turn this around and upside down, the fact that Jesse speaks bad English is quite strong signal that Jesse has rather low intelligence in the academic sense of that word.
