with 4 points in 6 games. You can pronounce his name as you wish.
Just curious as to why you think that would matter? Kraken are still playing teams who are fighting for playoff spots and have to work to put goals on the board.Always cautious about guys putting up numbers at the end of a season on clubs with no playoff race pressure.
No pressure on players to win on the non playoff teams. It’s exactly why coaches and GMs talk about the importance of teams competing for the playoffs down the stretch. They know it’s a different type of pressure.Just curious as to why you think that would matter? With Nyman, the glaring issue is obviously is skating. If he gets caught out of position deep in the offensive zone, he struggles to back check because he just cannot make it in time. Certainly not for lack of trying. If/when he catches up, he will backcheck. Offensively he has been a treat to watch so far. The points have been good but he could easily have had more. He has a great shot and has hit quite a few goal posts already. He draws opponent skaters towards him and can still get the puck off his stick either to fire a quick shot at the goalie for a rebound or find a teammate. He will go in front of the net and work hard.
That being said, he certainly has work to do. He has the size, but a bit of muscle would help. Also, being ready for the physicality. He can handle it but seems somewhat unprepared that NHL players can and will be able to physically outmatch him. That will come with experience though. Same with his defensive positioning. It is not bad, but needs to be better.
Right. But my point is that has not really been the case for him. 4 points off the Oilers, 1 off the Jets. The last one was against the Habs but they are fighting, and currently tied in points, for the second WC spot in the East.No pressure on players to win on the non playoff teams.
