Rodrigues, DeBrincat and Dvorak. All talented in their own way but they are all made better by very very special players on their team.

Dvorak is the best of all 3.... guy isn't really made that much better by the players on his team.

Eichel or no Eichel, he's a dime-a-dozen overage undraftee in the NCAA who won't get a serious look unless he dominates an eval camp or preseason. There are also dozens of Rodrigues-types in the CHL - OA's who went undrafted and pile up points.

Slim chance.

I respect that he's smart enough to know where his meals come from...but outside of letting them room together in camp I don't see much of a point.

Rodrigues might be able to carve out a bottom-six role for himself in the NHL, but he should be a good AHL'er at least. Also, no question that Eichel attracted extra attention, but Rodrigues still created enough on his own:

Evan just scored his first goal as a Sabre in his 2nd game.

Edit: And he adds an assist in the GWG in OT to end the season.

I thought he looked good both games he got in in the NHL. He's all IQ and effort...none of his measurables are anything to write home about...but he looked the part in his short stay.

So he's pretty damn good. Funny how Murray courted Vesey so hard when he got a better player the season prior with little fanfare.

Eh, I wouldn't say "better". He's useful, granted, but I'm not sure how he's going to be better.
