Ive seen a lot of BU. Hes a good kid who works hard and does his job. But hes not putting up these kind of numbers without Eichel.

Scored all of 14 points as a junior before quadrupling it with Eichel this year. Probably fair comment.

BU was ****ing horrible last year.

No one's saying he'd put these numbers without Eichel, but Rodriguez was scoring a lot in the first half of the year without Eichel too. He's obviously not a blue chip prospect but there is a legitimate amount of skill there and he'd be a perfect energy player in today's NHL. It's a huge disservice to Rodriguez to discount all that. I've been watching him for four years and he's a serious player.

Spot on. Those suggesting he's just a product of Eichel put their judgements in serious doubt. Extremely creative and high hockey IQ. He's also an outstanding defensive player--was runner-up for Hockey East D-Player of the Year. Will he reach the NHL? Maybe in a few years. He's certainly an AHL-level talent who will have to work to reach the next level.

He'll get signed by someone. Most likely an AHL career, but you never know. Might become a role player for someone (guys I thought less of in college have) but I don't have a ton of expectations for him.

I like Oksanen's chances for an NHL career more.

Because of Eichel's presence, and O'Connor's for that matter, Oksanen has been seen by loads of NHL scout. An undrafted free agent, his shot and his size should earn him numerous offers, probably making the junior a flight risk after the season.

209 at the Van
Rodrigues, DeBrincat and Dvorak. All talented in their own way but they are all made better by very very special players on their team.

Saw him several times this winter on ESPN. His enthusiasm is infectious on the bench and really keeps the energy going among his team mates.

Agreed, it's just a lazy assessment of a player in my eyes and does him a great disservice as a player. Of course playing with Eichel would help his game, it would for anyone. He is a bit undersized and I feel he needs to keep working on his top speed and gaining strength but he's a smart player with a high skill level. He makes things happen all the time offensively and also commits to a strong two-way game. Probably will be signed but right now I consider him a top 6 AHL guy with call up potential, could be a Justin Fontaine type.

Also pretty cool the third member of that Lessio-Strome-Rodrigues Toronto Marlie Minor Midget team get some nice recognition! What a line that would have been.
