Still bizarre him not getting drafted
- was ranked 85th (NHL Central Scouting) to 94th (FCHockey)

Its like every team forgot that he even existed.

ELITEPROSPECTS :

" The defining characteristic of Evan Konyen’s game is his handling skill. This aspect of his game grades highly not only because of his control of the puck when it’s in his possession but because of his ability to blend first touches and pass receptions into his next move "

THEHOCKEYWRITERS

" Konyen can bring offense. He’s great when entering the zone as he can either carry it in himself to start possession or find teammates to pass to, as he’s able to keep his head up while skating in transition. He has good speed, and those entries go toward his puck-handling ability as well. He’s got great hand-eye and puck control, which can help further offensive possessions "

" One of his best attributes is his shot. He has decent power and a quick release on his wrist shot and can be a dangerous one-timer option, especially on the power play and below the circle. When he has time and space, he can pick corners confidently. His motor is always running, and he’ll look for areas to get into to set up scoring chances when without the puck "

" Konyen has some things to work on, but his shot and upside could see him taken around the middle of the draft.

" He could go in the late third or early fourth round. However, I think that a safe bet would probably be the fourth round or fifth round, but I’m leaning toward the mid-fourth round "

22-23 season

2 goals, 3 assists trough 2 preseason games
+2 with 5 shots on goal.

Haven't seen him mentioned amongst the overagers eligible for this weekend's draft.

But has been in development camps and had eight points in nine playoff games.

Any chance he gets taken in the late rounds?

and not thats physical either.
Question how much you've seen him play, he's not going to Jacob Trouba someone in open ice, but he plays the corners hard, plays the role of a pest quite well and is constantly involved in battles on the ice.

No chance he gets drafted but I could see another NHL camp in his future.

since he was in pittsburgh. sure he goes in corners, but with his size he needs to be way harder to overcome it, and its not his identtiy.

I've watched him a ton. I thought he had NHL potential at first but he just hasn't developed much. He is feisty but just doesn't have the size/strength or skill to play his game at the NHL level. Wish him the best though
