The other hyped Russian for the 2016 draft Vitaly Abramov. Not as big or mature like Sokolov, but he has tons of skills. And should grow some more. Has a pretty good start in MHL as a 16 year old. 6+3 in 13 games so far.

I really hope he grows, because 5'9" can be rather limiting, which would be very unfortunate for a talent like that.

2 assist in Russias first game of 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. The second one was a beauty setup :handclap: He had a great game and he was always trouble for the Canadian defense.

tbh I'm not usually a fan of many Russian prospects and I never heard of him before the U17s but I really really like his game. It was more than skill on the puck.

5'9" won't hurt him if he keeps playing the style he plays.

I liked this kid today. Did a lot of little things well. Worked his butt off. Dangerous offensively too.

i really like the kid, exciting, smart, hard worker, plays bigger than he is....right now i have him mid 2nd round for 2016 but he is a guy IMO who could and probably will rise a lot, I have seen him for 2 years now and his skills are impressive.

Abramov impressed me more than anyone else on Russian team, even more than Sokolov. The kid is just great, I really like the way he plays. He must be on U18 roster when the spring comes.

He scored 9 points in 4 games in 5 Nations Tournament in February. And 14 points in 20 MHL games as 16 year old. I mean Yakupov scored 6 pts in 14 gp at the same age, Scherbak - 14 pts in 50 gp. Kucherov had a better stats though. And Buchnevich too.

Wow, that's a surprise :amazed:

Is it really? Small guy, crazy talented, isn't about to get a shot in the KHL anytime soon. Probably wants to boost his stock before the draft. Makes sense to me.

Yes, I also thought about the size (and about QMJHL :) ) and increasing the draft stock, but still he was expected to be one of the main guy for the U18 MHL project that is starting next season.
