22 year old Russian center who will most likely be centering Kaprizov next year. 6'0, 181 lbs.
Was scouted by Chicago last year and looks to be somewhat of a late bloomer on the way.

It won't surprise me, if this guy becomes a big star one day. Not even because of his 4 points vs Dynamo. He steadily improves his game season by season, and he is only 22.

Right, impressed me every time I see him play. I like his chances.

Strange that this thread doesn't get any updates, since Okulov has scored quite some nice goals so far this season.

Great talent. I doubt his NA future, but I could tell off the hop he was going to develop like this.

Just curious. Do you doubt his NA future because you think his skill won't translate to the NHL or because you think he'd rather stay in the KHL?
The latter. I think he has NHL skill for sure. For guys like those who aren't ever drafted and break out in their early - mid 20's they will sometimes just stick it out in Russia and not take a chance.

Toronto and Montreal both rumoured to adding him next season.

Apparently it is between the Leafs and Habs to get this guy next year.

I'm actually not sure at all, how good he'll be in the NHL. I was almost sure, Mikheyev would be alright, because he was getting better and better with each new season. Okulov didn't progress a lot in previous seasons. He does look better this season, but it's only 17 games...
