This is exactly what Sweden needed. We've produced a ton of great defensemen as of late, nice to see a forward who could very well become a superstar. After the Sedins, Backstrom and Zetterberg, we've lacked a bit of that.

Why did linden step down anyway? He was a big pettersson fan

probably because ownership is complicated at best and straight up meddling at worst. he was a fan service hire and ushered in an era of mediocrity after replacing the best GM we ever had.

he was a hero here but now everyone hates him, probably just wanted to get out while he could

" Everyone hates him"? Sure thing. Maybe some keyboard warriors who think they are the reincarnation of Bill Torre but I think you will find the majority of Canucks fans still have him on their top 5 list.
