One of the top forwards in this Ontario age group. Lane won the GTHL championship with the Toronto Marlboros this season. Lane is a smart two-way forward that sees the ice well and has an excellent motor. A natural playmaker that is able to make crisp passes across the ice. He positions himself well in the defensive zone for turnovers, and had one of the better statistical preformances at the most recent OHL cup.

Should be an interesting follow moving forward.

Some early rankings have him as a late 2nd rounder for next year's draft. Harvard commit. EP doesn't list where he is playing next season, but I would think Green Bay would be the smart choice.

Anybody watched him last year? His center at St. Andrew's last year, Kieren Dervin (Sioux City/Penn State), is also listed as a notable 2007 for the draft next spring. It's kind of fun to discover some of these prep kids who have zero buzz right now who are legit draft prospects just under the radar because of where they are playing (no swipe at St. Andrew's which is a legit factory of talent).

Solid two way guy that is poised for an offensive explosion this season.

I see that he has a pretty good OHL line of 6-3-2-5 plus 3 is he still playing on the team, injured or?

He's a borderline 1st rounder for me. There are about 25 or so prospects in a big group for me that could go anywhere from the late 20's, to 50th, and he's one of them. I like his off-puck awareness, and I feel he's good at supporting play away from the puck. Middle-6 W potential. He needs to become a better skater, but I don't see any red flags in his skating.

Lane was named rookie of the week in the OHL a few days ago. He followed that up by putting up two points against the eastern conference leading Brantford Bulldogs on Wednesday. He has 7 points (4G, 3A) in 5 games since rejoining the Steelheads
