All to the back of the head. I don't expect guys to be conscious of that in a hockey fight but it can be very dangerous. No idea what McGroarty was doing here.

Damn, that went poorly. Reminds me of when I went to play junior and attended my first training camp and kids were so eager to fight until they actually tried it.

McGroarty lost his grip and decided for some reason just to hang his head low. I'd give him props for not turtling, but that was one of the worst showings of a hockey fight that I have seen. He likes to play with an edge, so I am hoping that Boko Imama gives him some guidance.

I don't think the linesman are trained combat MMA officials that can dictate that, lol.
Just commenting that all combat sports ban these shots while it's not even a thought in hockey. Didn't criticize the players or officials for it, nor do I expect them to intervene or levy punishment because obviously they never have. The responses I'm getting are making excuses for things I didn't even bring up. It's an observation because we saw it to an extreme in this fight.

At the end of the day, I get what you're saying, man.

Has McGroarty ever even watched a video on fighting? That was just terrible. He squared up with the guy and then just ducked his head. No ability to either defend himself or counterpunch from that position. Not attempting to get his left hand repositioned higher up at the guy’s shoulder was basically conceding a beating.

It’d be one thing if he got pulled into that battle. But he chose to fight a guy without having even the slightest clue what he was doing.
