Team for Korea. :)

If serious. I dunno if that is a good news. I'am sad for Dynamo, they have such a great team.

And also, knowing Znarok, I don't think there will be situation like Bills. When he thinks player doesn't belong to the team, but then, after media/fans/federetaion or someone else pressure, he decides to pick him.

But other factor, Znarok needs his boys in the team, he needs people he trusts, that they will work 200%, another thing is his team physical condition. Who fallows KHL knows, that his team always goes to Pinsk, in Belarus, and that is a haaardest camp everyone have been, that they say. And that gives his boy excellent physical condition, they can outrun everyone for the whole season. Coaching NT, another story. You only get to coach team couple of weeks before the tournament. Ohh, well. We will see, if its even is true. :)

i thought his real name is: Oļegs Znaroks ?

Depends on what you mean by the real name :) he was born as Oleg Valeryevich Znarok (Олег Валерьевич Знарок), but as he was playing for Latvia, his name had to be adjusted for the needs of Latvian grammar to Oļegs Znaroks and so as international latin spelling doesn't have 'ļ' letter, it have transformed to Olegs Znaroks. Don't know how it is written in his current German passport though.

I heard this rumour a few months ago, and it makes sense considering his success in the KHL the last few years and Russia's recent failures internationally. I wonder if he takes Vitolins with him?

there is lots of dust in the air right now, likely more than ever.

it needs to settle first, and then a new coach should be chosen.

the whole country is still shocked, so making a decision right now is a not a good idea.

We need to calm down first, to think about the errors, and then take a decision.

Bill must go, there is no question about that.

You know people wanted answers and they wanted to see heads roll ASAP. They got that. As for the new coach, I don't follow the KHL much, but if he won the championship over there, that's a good sign.

no its not, Bill has also won it, yet he was unable to take even the most obvious decisions during the game. Play Bob, do not play Ovy+Geno together because it doesn't work. Don't play Ovy on the defensive position in PP because it doesn't work. Do not tell Malkin to play more defense than offense because it doesn't work.

Dust needs to settles before people can get answers. Hasty answers in such situations can lead to more pain in the future.

If this turns out true,it would be great for Russian hockey, with Znaroks coaching style he could make Russia unstoppable.

Yeah, right. You are talking about the guy who's playing Kvapil on the 4th line being given a team of Kvapils.. Perfect fit :sarcasm:

Honestly, does anyone actually think there is a Russian alive today that could coach the national team to success in a best on best tournament?

What do you mean by Zholtok was Zoltoks?

Žoltoks has always been Žoltoks.

As for the Russian poster claiming there's no '-s', have you seen his passport? :)

Have you seen his birth certificate? Pretty sure he was as Жолток as they come.

Yup, he was Zholtok when he was born - at that time Latvia was occupied by the Soviets. :)

He started playing pro hockey as a Latvian, which is the only thing which matters, unless you have a very specific interest in him as a kid for some odd reason.

Well, you said "Žoltoks has always been Žoltoks." when in fact he hasn't, I just pointed that out.

reminds me of when Bilyaletdinov was hired after having great success in the KHL...

..and Bykov went on to win the Gagarin Cup while coaching one of the most dominant teams that have ever graced the KHL ice one year after he was canned from the NT in similar fashion..
