Russians no longer welcome in Quebec Peewee tournament

For causing problems in World's most prestigious minor Hockey tournament. Lack of respect, but overblown reaction for one team's action I think.

So they are mad that:

1. A Russian team chose to keep using its best players in a rout instead of spreading around the icetime.

2. A Russian team wasn't punctual.

The idea to ban Russian teams due to the actions of one Russian team is ridiculous. Even then, the first issue is completely Russia's prerogative and is not something that should be punished. If it is supposed to be a competitive tournament, then go out and beat them on the ice next time. For the second issue, if punctuality is an issue then punish the team/coach in question as opposed to future, unrelated Russian teams. Pretty stupid.

Something doesn't add up. The Detroit team in the AAA division won two of their playoff games by scores of 8-1 and 7-0. Why are the Russian team singled out for lopsided scores? The Russian team only won the final by a score of 4-1, which is not out of hand. If they were late for buses, I can understand the frustration but their reaction seems over the top.

Perhaps they just need to be more careful where Russian teams are placed - maybe the team should be considered AAA rather than AA-select. If you have teams coming from completely different systems, I can see where they could be placed in an inappropriate division.

its a peewee tournament and my reading says that there were 4 players who didnt play ( my french may not be great so if I'm wrong please correct me) in a game that they were up 5-0.

being late is not desirable but it shouldnt be the kiss of death.

If that is the case, should be tourney rules that EVERY kid at that age gets ice time - that's ****ing crazy that they didn't play (if true).

Let the kids play!!
