Why is a guy who can carry the puck like Broberg even attempting an outlet pass? Clearly passing the puck up isn’t his game. He should carry the puck!

Podkolzin is a beast

He's like ROR when he doesn't have the puck. Non-stop motor, grinding and battling hard.
Then when he has the puck, he reminds me of a play-making version of John Tavares. The way he doesn't panic, positioning, the way he protects the puck , reads the play etc.

If Podkolzin becomes a 20 goal, second line winger with an elite defensive game, that would bode VERY well for the Canucks. They need a player like this. Him and Horvat together would be so hard to play against. Layer in Jt. Miller on the left side and you have a matchup / shut down line who will score a ton of goals
