I reckon it'll be American KHL players. 36 Americans appeared in at least 1 KHL team in 2025-26. If they have trouble fielding a full roster due to contracts/summer plans/etc. etc., may turn it into a North American thing (69 Canadians appeared in at least 1 KHL game).

Oops reading further says "KHL players will not participate" so I dunno who is actually intended to be here... exhibition amateurs (20 random Russian guys vs. 20 random American guys)? lol, certainly won't be NHL Stars on Summer holiday.

Wouldn't put much stock into whatever this is.

Gary and the owners are inconsequential. All the Russian NHLers already gather for Panarin/Sergachev's charity exhibition match in Moscow ever year as it is.

But, yea, I can't envision this working from the American side.

I think the Russians would. If I’m not mistaken most of them partake in numerous games in the offseason for charity and the like.

Not likely but If it's with Nhlers, then USA have to send a tough team. Russians will be angry and play very physical and dirty. And it will be in the Lions den in Moscow. The important thing is not really to win this game, its just a random summer game. No, the important thing is to stand up for your nation in this blood bath.
