Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. One wonders if he has picked his play up in part because he figures there's a chance he's gone to a real contender like Edmonton this year. Anaheim has to make a call on Dostal after this season, they can't just keep kicking the can down the road and they are a cheap team, likely aren't going to be happy paying Dostal 5.5+ and Gibson 6.4 combined. Someone likely has to go and we're one of the few contending teams that could use a goalie.

Why does Bob Stauffer keep hinting that Evander Kane may not be ready to play in the playoffs?
Because if Bob is saying that, the Oilers are telling him to say that. It means Bowman is planning to basically LTIR him for the rest of the regular season.

Then I say do it. I don't hate either goalie, but we can't go in with both together. Send Pickard + and see what we can do from there.
Because Evander Kane may not be ready for the playoffs.
He’s been out the whole season. Had numerous issues that needed repairing.
It’s not out of the question that he may not be ready.

Gibson at 50% retention would allow them to stay cheap in net.
You'd have to lose some depth up front, but a top 4 of Ekholm-Bouchard, Nurse-Dobson would be pretty damn enticing. I really think a team with McDrai could fill half their forward group with bargain bin forwards and still be one of the highest scoring teams in the league.
I'd have no problem shipping out any prospects or picks to make this happen tbh.

Maybe I'm just too cynical but it seems a virtual lock that Kane is going to be 100% for game 1 of the first round
We want to use his cap space. The org doesn't want the appearance that we are gaming the system. Here comes our media guy to say that Kane is a mess. Look out for the dying weeks of the season when Kane defies the odds because of his superior genetics lol
William Karlsson was put on LTIR. These pieces of crap are going to do this three years in a row and get away with it, aren't they.

These guys all have pride, but every man can be beaten down a peg or two after a while. if I was on those sh** ANA teams for so long, I honestly wouldn't be that driven anymore. I would enjoy the sun and the $$ in the bank. Years and years of just garbage teams. His fault too. You can always demand a trade.
I would love a Gibson Skinner tandem. I would feel more comfortable, even with what Pickard has done thus far.

There is zero chance we are adding Rantanen or Dobson.

Honestly we have no idea. I personally can't see him being 100%. He wouldn't even have any game action. He would be so rusty even healthy. I think they slowly bring him into the playoffs as long as they are winning. They also probably don't want Gary coming after them for doing something legal.
