A little surprising to see the ANA and NYR on there, both make sense though, the Ducks for being poorly managed and NYR I think the strong arm tactics to force the Trouba trade was not well received by many players.
To be fair it's just 82 responses. So Anaheim and the Rangers at 2.44% both only had 2 players each list them as their #1 least desired team to go to. I imagine you could poll 82 different placers and end up with different results in that 4-7 range of teams.

These people play too many video games. Good teams don’t have to make 5-6 trades because they have good rosters. Edmonton is a good team, they’re better than the team that almost won the cup last year and they’re winning a lot of hockey games. They’ll make their adds but they aren’t going to rush into dumb, desperate trades and signings because that’s what other teams are doing.

Praising teams that are trading their best players while they’re fighting for playoff spots while on the other team criticizing the management of a team near the top of the league is about as dumb as it gets. These people are morons and all you can do is laugh at their moronic opinions.
Wrong praising the ability to admit to your mistakes and identifying guys are not cutting it, and then improving your D. That's all.

RNH could have ten points all year and they wouldn't ever dare to think of moving him. You are basically a lifer once you are here. For the most part.

I have always been against trading for Gibson, but at this point I wouldn't even mind it. We just can't go into the playoffs with these two.

Hopefully other teams use us as leverage against teams like Carolina. We are in the goalie market but not super desperate. Like "If you didn't pony up and pay a Kings ransom, we will trade our goalie to Edmonton instead".

What are you even talking about man ? Savoies 2nd and 3rd seasons in the WHL wrecks Point. If Savoie even had a full 3rd season he would be at 20 points clear of Point.

Where are you getting your stats from ?
He also played for the Ice who were extremely stacked and Point played for a very garbage team...

I am going off my eye test. Not everything is stats, stats, stats.

You think the Sabres would give up on a Brayden Point type player?

Did you also say Oilers would go nowhere with Bouchard in the playoffs...

He tends to make them up
Nope didn't say that. You are the one making stuff up. I've been telling everyone the Oilers are were/are going to win the cup.

Sorry I said that Bouchard wasn't a top 5 defensemen in the NHL. Sorry I'm not that high on Savoie. It must offend you.

There is a long history of teams being short-sighted and giving up on players like this.

Also, often times in Junior it's easier to stack up points when you were the guy on a one line team, than it is when your team is stacked. Ice time can be greatly reduced.

That is true. Bedard did it with hot garbage in Regina.

I guess time will tell and will answer this, but I do not think Savoie is much more than slightly better/more consistent Nyquist production wise.

I just dont get why some fans complain about all the moves we don't make.

Theirs lots of other stuff to criticizing management for not offering a better package on Pettersson makes no sense to me.
Agreed. We wait until after the deadline to criticize. They obviously have some sort of a plan.

Some people don't seem to realize that signing Klingberg meant we were going to take our time and see how he plays out before making a decision which direction we will go in a trade.

RNH and Hyman are barely scoring at that rate of 40 points in 68 games. If it was so easy to do you’d think some of our forwards would be doing it. Or do you think Savoie would be our 3rd best forward right now?
Easily. If you watch and follow Savoie, you can easily tell this guys hockey IQ is through the roof. The reason he's not, Its obvious 20 year old's would be a defensive liability in their first season in the NHL. The Oilers are doing the right thing by leaving him in the AHL.

You dont know what your talking about. What eye test ? Are you Points cousin brother ? Point averaged less PPG in his junior career, wasnt great defensively, and only because he played nearly 4 years in the dub that he was able to finally put up nearly 1.9 ppg at the end. Does that guarantee Savoie will be better in the NHL ? No, but at least im stating facts and your making random theories up in your head.

If we are not trading for a goalie or a top 4 D, getting a top line winger like Konecny before his NMC kicks in would be the biggest add.

1st, 2 x 2nds and Jarventi

Hyman-McDavid-Konecny
Skinner-Drai-Podz
Kane-RNH-Arvid
Perry-Henrique-Brown
Janmark, Kapanen

I'm not so sure how much credit Daryl Katz deserves unless he secretly rigged the McDavid lottery. It's not a stretch to say McDavid single handedly propelled this organization from New York Jets to perennial contender. And even then it took a long time to get there thanks to some questionable hires.
We'll be back near the top of the no trade lists once McDrai start slowing down or retire.

That’s rough for the Jets. Chevaldayoff deserves some praise for the job hes done there.

I think that Chevaldayoff is the best trading GM in the league and I don't know if it's particularly close.

He's had to deal profile players that don't want to be there multiple times now and has still gotten full value even though everyone knows they want out.

I'm starting to become a bit of a Savoie fan myself, but we need to temper the expectations there I think. If he can score even 30 points next year in the NHL, that has to be considered a massive success.

Nice to see Skinner have some success last night in the top-6. He certainly earned another game or two in that spot with his performance last night (and really his solid D play for the past couple of weeks here). No idea if he sticks longer term, but I still think worth a try.

Katz does get some credit from sources I've heard in the organization - especially when it comes to player retention as well. I don't think there's an owner in the league who does more for their players and their families.

What they should do, as I expect them to send Philp down during the break, swap them now and give Savoie a look in the final game before the break. Kapanen can come out, no problem.

Podkolzin has played well for his entire tenure as an Oiler. You wont get an argument from me on that.
He just cant score. He was playing over 13 minutes a game (the vast majority of that with Draisaitl) and he has 6 goals to show for it. Arvidsson is playing almost 15 minutes a game at 5x5 (much of that with Draisailtl) and he has 6 goals...not nearly good enough. He has even played on the PP a little as well.
Skinner was bought out by Buffalo for a reason and that reason isnt because he is a legit top 6 winger at this point in his career.
You are better than this.
