Realistically #1 deadline target should be winger who can play in the top 6. Kane will have missed a good part of the year and it will take time for him to get up to speed, if he does play this year, which is at least in question.
#2 is the right hand faceoff center for own zone starts and PK in the playoffs. Henrique doesn't really fit the bill and trusting a rookie in a critical role in the playoffs is fraught with peril.
I'd also like to see either a #2RHD, though the cost is likely prohibitive with our first rounders spoken for and the prospect closet cleaned out and restocked by Jeff Jackson. Maybe a #7 who's more of an own zone guy in the event our deny/corsi philosophy comes back to bite us for playoff hockey.
One thing about goalie is that the Oiler can call up Rodrigue for the postseason without fear of a waiver claim until the fall, so there's your extra backup in case Skinner has a confidence crisis.
