Dustin is like the lowest salesman alive that just keeps his job (and I don't want to slander the guy). How do you keep a guy who just flubs his job for over ten years?

bro what is this Luka trade

NHL trade market got a lil something-something and the NBA said hold me beerWTF
WTF he actually got traded

Yet we can't trade our Berta Mustachio lol

These guys traded a massive player. Yet we are holding our penises to try getting a Saros

Overpay a ton for Saros

We can deal with the aftermath later

A cup is worth a lifetime of memories. We lost 2006, last year

Just do it.

Get Gibson as a second option. Just pay up.

Lifetime memories don't come alone often.

Is there any player who fits with Nurse?
Nurse Klingberg feels like a disaster.

Emberson is physichal and given in the lineup, question is wherso with Nurse or Kulak. I feel he matches Kulak, and make a very strong 3rd pair with Kulak.

So Nurse and Klingberg. But whatever, I like 7-5 games more than 3-1. Nurse and Klingberg helps the incrasing scoring in NHL. Kudos to them.

The Oilers would be a dynasty if everyone was in their prime.

Hyman-McDavid-Perry
Skinner-Drai-Arvid
RNH-Henrique-Kane
Janmark-Ryan-Brown
Where is Podkolz?
I would still put Skinner as a 3rd liner at highest.

Hyman McDavid Arvid - fits McJ better
Podkolz Leon Kane - big body line.
Nuge Henrique Perry
Skinner Janmark Brown - Grinding and outskates opposition.
Janmark and Brown gives Skinner room to have his own circus as he likes.

The 4 guys that are near the top of my wanted list who aren't officially available, but I think could be:

1) Brad Marchand- I know BOS is technically right in the wild card hunt, but with a close to -30 goal differential they obviously shouldn't be. BOS management tends to be Cup focused rather than just trying to make the playoffs and I think they will recognize the futility of it. I could see BOS trading him to help re-tool for next season and the re-sign him in the offseason.

2) Ryan Pulock- NYI is win streaking without either him or Dobson in the line-up and just picked up DeAngelo and Boqvist, I think he is becoming expendable for them, never quite lived up to his full potential and could probably use a change of scenery, I think his style would better match with us and the combination of Nurse and Coffey I think could get him back to playing his best.

3) Brandon Carlo- I don't think BOS sees him as part of the core (particularly with him having a down season) and he's one of their better trade chips to re-tool and change the team mix. One caveat is he has a very similar reputation to Nurse in being a guy that accidentally deflects pucks into his own net

4) Claude Giroux- While I think OTT has every intention of making the playoffs, I think they are of a similar mindset to us back when we were continually a bubble team, in that we often traded our UFAs we couldn't extend and then used a portion of what we gained to bolster the roster; kind of half-in half-out, but the main mindset is more future oriented.

*The forwards are quite old and I do worry we don't have enough young legs, but Marchand and Giroux are of a high enough caliber it's hard to see them not being quality additions.

The narrative around the Stars is the most confusing in the league.
It’s hilarious because the poster you are conversing with spent most of last season loudly proclaiming the Stars a ‘nothing team’. When white-knighting for Stu though he’ll act like the Stars were a juggernaut and admonish others for ‘downplaying’ the Oilers win over them. Sure didn’t look like ‘nothing’ to me when they were beating Vegas and Colorado.

I posted this in the McDavid thread, but it seems the guy is ailing with some kind of wrist or upper body injury and has been for months.

Let's say he needs 2.5 months of recovery time, which conveniently takes him to the end of the regular season. How best could we use $17.7M in total cap space to make sure we still make the playoffs without him?

Not sure if it’s my imagination but some of the players post game comments seemed to echo the reflection that goaltending needs to be addressed. I only caught snippets on holidays so I may have read out on context but there was a lot of “it’s tough when your down 3 goals that early” vs “we need to do a better job defending” that we’ve seen in earlier Skinner pumpkins.

The D were AWOL on a couple of those GA and Im sure the players noticed, so I wouldnt read too much into it.
