Rumor: Rumors & Proposals Thread | With Klingberg in the Mix Who Are Our 7D After the Deadline?

Farabee is a two time 20 goal scorer and Frost is a guy who easily puts up 40 points a year for you. Two vanilla guys, 24 and 25 years old respectively. That's an upgrade on what they likely gave up.
$5Mx4 for a 15-20 goal guy fits right in with their other horrible contracts.

Frost is arb eligible, so good chance he's just a rental or another bad contract.

I take Philly's side of it easily.

I think you're worried too much about the cap impact of a trade between two teams with an abundance of cap flexibility.

Pelletier cleared waivers earlier this season and is an undersized forward with no real elite skillset. Kuzmenko, while an elite shooter, has worn out his welcome on the last two teams he's player for.

Calgary is getting an immediate bump in terms of skill on their roster.

Let this be a message to Calgary players: don’t kiss Huberdeau in public.

He tries that in Philly, Torts will glue Pelletier’s lips to his own ass

I think it's the opposite, he just basically forfeit a shit ton of cash (4.5 mill for next year on top of what he would have made this year?). Think he will want clarity on any team he goes to as to his role and having a chance to earn a contract that can make back the money lost. He will want to know from Bowman what his role here will be and frankly it's not that hard to see, none of the Arvidsson, JSkinner, or even Podkolzin are producing lights out, who knows if Kane even plays this season ... he probably is being told he will have a good chance at top 6 minutes.

Meh, I don't get too attached to any of these role players. The systems play from Coffey/Knob is what makes the D corps hum alongside Ekholm playing like a legit no.1 D.

People getting caught up with role players like Emberson are like those who were crazy about Desharnais (and those people were quite loud early on in the season, they've shut up now that he's clearly bombing in Vancouver).
Lol

It's a shame Saad ain't coming here (would like to be proven wrong, but doubt Seravalli is not plugged in on this). Knob could have another winger to dump into the bottom 6 while continuing to wonder why Leon's wingers never score

He did have 26 goals last year. I also refuse to believe we aren't in on him. Boob wouldn't be spouting this much shit about him on his show and he called out the Oilers wingers during the 2nd intermission

Well makes the Flames better and they didn’t give up much. The Farabee contract isn’t really an issue for them.

But they are stuck in no mans land. Not good enough or bad enough. Dustin Wolf pulling them out of the gutter.

The Calgary “ Mushy Middle” Flames

That’s surprising. I wonder if Seravalli is missing something

Gonna guess Vegas.

Calgary basically gives up a second round pick for two actual middle 6 NHL forwards, including one with decent upside.

Probably one of Conroy’s better trades for once.

They’re just wasting time though. It’s a lotto team disguised as a bubble team in a soft middle portion of the conference

Should be collecting prospects and picks and selling off contracts. That dumbf*** owner needs to realize his worthless franchise should be rebuilding and not prolonging the inevitable

I thought that Calgary was going for a full rebuild but I don’t know what the heck their strategy is anymore. Watch them finish in 9th

I would argue Farabee and Frost are more suitable for a rebuild than Kuzmenko and Pelletier though.

They need to dig deeper than that. There is 0 elite talent in the pipeline or on that roster

Glad they’re owned by a pompous fool and run by idiot yes men though

They can’t tank properly because Wolf makes too many saves and Huberdreau woke up from his year long nap (he still sucks though)

I feel like Philly could have gotten more but I also don’t think Calgary is going to be much better after this.

Cap space is always valuable. If you have it, you can get something like two 1st rounders to take a Sean Monahan.

Instead, Calgary is giving up assets for a serious cap dump.

They might be better on paper, but we’re talking about two small, slow skill players that were worth basically nothing.

I’d take the second round pick.

I think you pump either one of those assets with a couple seasons of top six ice time and you're getting better value than that 2025 2nd. No reason to think that either of those guys can't match or even surpass the production they've posted previously.

As an aside, I could see Rasmus Andersson going to LA. With the rumors of Blake Clarke potentially moving, I could see a big deadline swap.

Let's get some actual finishers into the top 6, shall we?

Henrique - McDavid - Hyman
Saad - Draisaitl - Kane
Podkolzin - RNH - Arvidsson
Janmark/Skinner - Philp - Perry/Brown
