Arvidsson and Klingberg are from the same town too
Don't remember those guys being very reliable, do you know of some things that they were right about?

Bowman signing and the oilers not matching the offersheetsDon't remember those guys being very reliable, do you know of some things that they were right about?
Bowman signing, Dermott signing. I wouldn't say they are reliable.Don't remember those guys being very reliable, do you know of some things that they were right about?

But, honestly, the Jeff Skinner signing did seem like a panic move. It happened after Debrusk signed in Vancouver
I think it’s fair to criticize them for Brown and Skinner but in the same vein it’s only fair to compliment them for their hits.Fair, but I feel like the pro scouting has made some hits as well to get some leeway
I think J Skinner was a “this guy should be good” general sentiment. Clearly JJ and Knob were not on the same page with this player

Emberson has been really solid and we dumped Ceci’s contract in exchange for him. Podz has been a nice addition.
I used to think that he was really good for Dallas and then his game went into the shitter. If we sign him for cheap it'd be worth a shot. How much of his play dying out was due to injury? We know that hips can really affect a player's ability to play, right? Can Klingberg be that mobile, puck moving D that can play the right side for us? He can pinch in on the PP2, and possibly the PK? Under a mil? Ok, let's see what he can bring. Similar or same surgery that Patrick Kane had, and he's doing pretty good. No harm in trying him out.
I mean that's not really a choice, it's Klingberg by miles and I suspect they'll still add someone else. Josh Brown being above #9/10 on the depth chart is a big problem.I guess it's either Josh Brown or Kingberg
Fabbro is a young ascending player, Klingberg is a much older declining player. I wouldn't count on this guy as anything more than a 3rd pair/2nd PP specialist and even more odd that they'd be pursuing Klingberg because he's pretty much a free asset and not offer a very low pick for the Preds who were waiving Fabbro anyway. I know there was salary considerations but $2.5m was very manageable. Oh wellklingberg of the past few years isn't top 4. The hope is that after his surgeries he can recapture what he had in Dallas. In Dallas he was even top pair. I don't think he would be that good now but he might be a decent #4. Nurse has been pretty good with Stecher, who isn't top 4. Maybe Nurse can get the best out of Klingberg.
To be clear, I don't think the odds are great. It's not like I'm picking Klingberg over Parayko or Andersson. It's just that we can add Klingberg right now, for small cap hit and no assets lost. So it seems obvious.
Fabbro wasn't top 4 either, until he was
I agree with this 100%, but they plug and played Josh f***ing Brown with Nurse the last few games, and he's not an NHL player, so moving to Klingberg is just an upgrade, but I do worry about if it's enough.Fabbro is a young ascending player, Klingberg is a much older declining player. I wouldn't count on this guy as anything more than a 3rd pair/2nd PP specialist.
And I don't like the idea of a top 4 experiment for him because there's very little upside to it with it being highly likely that he's well past done as a top 4 Dman and while the Oilers are pretty much locked in to a playoff spot they're in a dogfight for the division and possible Presidents Trophy so I don't think experimenting with a top 4 D with a guy who is a real longshot is the best of ideas.
If he's signed as depth or as a rotation guy then I'm fine with it but if this is a plug and play with Nurse I really don't like it.
Just for the lulz

Edmonton: Gibson, Pettersson, Dumoulin, Ristolainen, and Savard.
I know him personally, and know he is connected. I don't remember but there was one rumour that he totally got wrong and it was a doozy last fall.Don't remember those guys being very reliable, do you know of some things that they were right about?

I know he is in touch with Friedman and Stauffer, and has good relationships with a bunch of players. He brings kids from club hockey to morning skates all the time.

Kane isn't a D though and doesn't have to transition while skating as much as a D does.Patty Kane had hip resurfacing surgery as well I believe. He came back great. Kesler had it at the end of his career, the Ducks were trash, and he already had a retirement contract. Guy might not have had the motivation to get back to game shape just to play for a trash team in his old age, so I wouldn't read into his experience with it as much.
I feel like sports medicine specifically has advanced leaps even in the last decade. Like Eichel had that spine surgery that was a first for NHL'ers and he looks elite. McDavid has came back in record time with multiple injuries. I feel like we see a lot less career enders overall, across all sports.
